Jason carried a frigid Britt into a remote cabin. He had apparently found her on the river. Britt explained that she was on her way back from Spoon Island in a boat she had rented herself, but the water got crazy as the storm came in too fast. "I thought I was going to die again," she cried, as she shook from the cold.

Jason helped her get closer to the fire and held her in his arms to keep her warm. Britt soon stripped out of her wet clothes, wrapped herself in a blanket, and got close to Jason. "I know you don't trust me, but I really want to help you. Please, let me help," he begged.

Britt chose to finally tell Jason the truth. She was being forced to complete her father's final project or she would die a quick death from Huntington's Disease.

At Drew's Dawn of Day house, Tracy handed Marty some bourbon in Scout's pink Thermos. She refused to give him back her heirloom decanter. As they argued over it, Marty tried to kick Tracy out, but she refused to leave. Tracy threatened to sue Marty if he made her leave.

The bickering about everything under the sun continued. "Tracy Quartermaine, you are nothing but a world-class pain in the ass who delights in the misfortune of others," Marty declared.

Tracy wondered why Marty insisted on making her a target of his frustrations. "Why do you hate me so much?" she asked. Marty thought it was obvious. "You don't remember? Tracy, you ruined my life," Marty replied, much to Tracy's surprise. "You destroyed my relationship with Lucy," he added.

"The only meaningful relationship Lucy Coe has ever had was with a duck named Sigmund," Tracy argued. Marty felt differently, telling her, "Lucy Coe was the best thing that ever happened to me and for some reason, you decided you had to undermine that."

Tracy was perplexed because she had no idea Marty truly felt this way. Tracy reminded him that she had apologized for insinuating that Lucy was having an affair with Scotty. "After the damage was done," Marty said. Tracy also reminded her frenemy that Marty did eventually find Lucy with Scott. "Why didn't you thank me?" she asked.

The pair continued arguing about his relationship history, with Tracy saying Marty had a type and Marty denying it. "You fall madly in lust with them and fail to see that they all have the same agenda — to bleed you dry," she said. Tracy didn't think Marty knew what love was, so he accused Tracy of the same.

Tracy denied the accusation. "I had decades of trial and error before I recognized the true love of my life." Marty asked if she was talking about Luke. "No, I'm talking about Dillon's father, the serial killer," Tracy quipped. She admitted that Luke was after her money at first, but they later realized that what they had was worth more than money.

Marty was surprised to hear Tracy talk about Luke with such love. Marty pointed out that the love of Luke's life was Laura. But Tracy didn't care, telling Marty, "What Luke had with Laura had nothing to do with what he had with me," she said. "We had to have past loves and broken hearts and children of our own for us to see each other clearly and honestly. Martin, you're never going to have a lasting relationship unless you see a woman for who she is and not who you want her to be."

Marty remained optimistic that there might still be somebody out there for him. "Maybe because between the pair of us, I'm the only one still willing to put my heart on the line," Marty said.

Danny and Charlotte made it as far as the gatehouse before Danny found the key under the mat and let them in. They just wanted to wait out the storm where things were quieter. Danny said he and Rocco had been hanging out there a lot. When she suddenly found she had phone service, Charlotte let Lulu know she was safe at the Qs with Danny.

Danny got the ingredients ready to make S'mores, but Charlotte felt that they were too messy and sweet. "Sometimes, you just gotta embrace the mess and enjoy the sweeter things," he smiled. Charlotte smiled back. (Uh-oh! They're cousins...)

The two teens bonded over stories from their childhood. Danny admitted he tries to play things safe, but sometimes he wants to take chances. Charlotte understood, saying she had to try hard to be normal. "I can speak four languages. I know the night train is the best way to get from Moscow to St. Petersburg, and where to get the best pizza in Naples. But nobody wants to hear that part of me because it reminds them who my dad is," she said.

Danny admitted that he knew his grandma and aunts worried he was becoming more like his dad. Charlotte pointed out that he was sensible enough to wait the storm out in the gatehouse. "It's one thing to be stupid and risky with my life. It's another if it's yours," he said.

Charlotte soon pointed out chocolate on Danny's face. She wiped it away, which led to a kiss (between cousins).

In the coffee shop that was once Brando's garage, Lulu texted Charlotte, but wasn't sure if her messages were even going through. Nathan warned that they wouldn't have power or a phone signal much longer. Lulu was relieved when she finally received a text from Charlotte.

Lulu realized that Nathan didn't really need to help her find Charlotte after all, but now they were snowed in at the coffee shop and had to make the best of things. Lulu found some booze to keep them warm and suggested that they play "Two Truths and a Lie."

During the game, Nathan revealed that he knew the entire periodic table of the elements by heart. Lulu was duly impressed. Nathan explained that his dad used to make him recite it every day. Lulu was confused because she thought his dad never paid much attention to him. Nathan said he was bad at math, so his dad made him learn physics and chemistry. Lulu seemed to buy that strange explanation.

As they opened up to each other some more, Lulu and Nathan kissed, as we expected they one day would.

Carly did her best to get Valentin to stay in, but he finally left her attic and announced he was leaving. Carly did not notice a text from Lulu when she handed a frantic Valentin a coat, a flashlight, and handwarmers. Valentin went out the back door, but Carly soon decided to look for him. She didn't get far cause a frozen Valentin had circled back.

She led him inside to get warm, informing Valentin that she knew Charlotte was safe. They sat by the fire to warm up with a drink. "At least your daughter has enough sense not to go running into this mess, unlike her father," Carly noted. Valentin was still shaken up. He thought Charlotte was going to die, but the storm forced him to give up searching for her. "How do you think Charlotte would have felt if she knew you died trying to find her?" Carly asked.

Valentin had his own question: "You had your boots and your coat on. Were you coming after me? Why would you risk your life for me, Carly?" She told him, "Because I know what it's like to lose a parent and I know what it's like to lose a child."

Carly admitted that Valentin was not who she thought he was, as he was willing to die just to find his daughter. "You are not who I thought you were either," Valentin confessed.

Cody and Molly enjoyed riding out the storm together in the stables. After some time in the bedroom, Molly insisted she had to check her email. When Molly couldn't find her phone, she turned to her laptop, leading Cody to comment on the foibles of our digital society.

Cody wanted a normal snow day with no distractions, but Molly found herself alarmed by something in her email. She told Cody she had gotten some news, but refused to say what the news was. After some prodding, Molly told Cody that she'd written a book, a western frontier romance.

Molly said she wrote it for fun and thought her sister understood that, but Kristina sent it to Molly's agent, who loved the book and wanted to get it published. "Writing is my hobby and I want it to stay that way," she said. Cody still couldn't wait to read the book. Molly changed the subject and suggested they go back to bed.

Later, when Molly was still upstairs, Cody found her manuscript titled "Laredo Sunrise" and started reading it.
