Lulu called Nathan a good man, and although he tried to be modest, she urged him not to be. He could've had an easy life, but he chose to serve and protect instead. Not many would've followed in the same path.

Lulu didn't know how she would've weathered the storm without Nathan. He declared that he wanted to be the man she expected him to be, and he leaned in for a kiss, which Lulu quickly reciprocated. Lulu tried to pull away for a split second, but temptation overtook them, and they engaged in an even more passionate embrace.

Lulu panicked when she realized what she had done. Nathan told Lulu he had been thinking about kissing her for quite some time. She had done so much for him with James, and he couldn't turn off his feelings.

However, Maxie was the biggest elephant in the room. Although Maxie was safely tucked away in a coma, she was still Lulu's best friend, and that complicated whatever brewed between the pair.

Lulu agreed that she felt something for Nathan, but nothing could happen because of Maxie. Nathan didn't agree with that because Maxie wasn't there. His "death" caused Maxie to move on several years ago, so he needed to do the same. Nathan couldn't hold on to a memory of what was or could have been when his future still lay ahead of him.

Carly and Valentin discussed how their opinions of each other had changed since forming their partnership. Carly previously found Valentin to be "thoroughly reprehensible." Marrying Nina, someone that Carly loathed, didn't exactly earn brownie points with her.

Valentin's face before throwing himself into the storm to find Charlotte was a quiet game-changer. In that moment, Carly saw the lengths that a father was willing to go to save his daughter from peril. Valentin remarked that Carly was different from what he realized as well.

Carly invited Valentin to sleep in the guest room instead of the attic, but he was hesitant. He worried that someone could show up, but Carly reminded him that with the snowstorm, the roads were closed, so nobody would drop by.

Valentin appreciated everything that Carly did to help him. Carly made it clear that her kindness didn't absolve him of her previous misdeed. He understood. However, he questioned whether she was prepared for this to culminate with Jack taking his place in prison. A doorbell ring startled both, since they didn't expect any arrivals.

It was Jack. The absolute worst nightmare of a choice for Carly and Valentin stood outside her front door. Carly walked Jack in, and she was forced to claim that she got her dates mixed up about having Donna that night. However, Jack noticed there were two drinking glasses set up, which he inquired about.

Carly fibbed and said Jason was set to join her before the storm, and Jack seemed to buy into that. Jack was excited that they had the entire home to themselves. Carly gave herself a pep talk in the mirror, so she could get through the idea of sleeping with someone that she despised on every level.

Rocco interrupted Danny and Charlotte in the middle of their makeout session. He asked, "What's going on?" as they looked puzzled. After seeing Charlotte's scarf in the main house, he assumed that this was where they'd end up.

Charlotte let it slip that Danny knew Valentin was at Carly's, and Rocco looked hurt when he realized he was left out of the loop.

Charlotte explained that she didn't want to keep putting Rocco in a compromising position with their mother. Danny pointed out that he'd be forced to lie to Lulu, which was worse than just keeping a casual secret from her.

Rocco insisted that he wanted to remain in the loop, ending whatever two-person romance was brewing between his sister and "brother."

Molly came downstairs to find Cody reading her manuscript, and he was clearly irritated. She asked how much he read, and his answer threw her off balance. Cody stated, "You're not mad at me for supposedly violating your privacy. You're mad because now I know what you really think about me."

The character was described as stupid, with golden retriever energy, and as having wasted potential. Although Molly felt violated, Cody was furious after discovering this. Despite Molly's best efforts to calm Cody down, he couldn't unlearn what he thought he figured out.

Molly confessed that parts of her main character were inspired by Cody, but a lot changed since then. The protagonist evolved into something so much more. Cody hadn't bothered to read further along in the book, so he never got to the good parts, and it seemed like he didn't want to either.

Portia stubbed her toe walking around Trina's apartment in the dark because she didn't want to wake her daughter. However, crying out in pain was a poor way to achieve that. Trina didn't know exactly how she felt toward her mother, but she was tired. She was worn out. It had been an endless stream of secrets and lies.

Trina wasn't sure if she could ever forgive Portia for betraying Curtis and their family. Portia recognized Trina's right to stay mad at her, but she was mature enough to know that relationships didn't always work out. Trina was fed up, though. This was the second time that Portia wrecked her family.

Trina hated that the baby would enter this world the same way she did: surrounded by lies. Trina harbored pain after being lied to about her paternity. She loved Portia, but she didn't understand any of the decisions her mother made. Having a relationship remained nearly impossible due to the eroded trust.

Portia begged Trina to try to repair the relationship. She hoped that Trina wouldn't take out her anger on her onto the innocent child, but ultimately she realized that wasn't in Trina's nature.

Britt told Jason that he deserved the truth after saving her life. She was petrified that the people forcing her to work on Faison's final project would carry out their threats. Britt opened up about Cullum's demand that she end her relationship with Jason.

Jason assumed that Cullum was behind the staged confrontation with Carly at Bobbie's, but it went deeper than that. Cullum appeared to Britt at the Five Poppies, and she and Sidwell needed her to complete the project. Worse than that, he worked for the WSB.

Britt told Jason about Cullum approaching Rocco on numerous occasions, which left her hands tied. She was horrified at the idea of Rocco being locked away in an international prison. The distance from Jason wasn't what she wanted, but it was her only choice.

Britt revealed that she thought she really died from Heather and the hook, but she awoke at the resort, and Cullum was the first face that she saw. He agreed to provide her with powerful medications that could keep her Huntington's at bay. However, in return, they needed Britt to work on cold fusion as part of her father's final project.

Britt agreed to the plan because it was the only way to keep her symptoms in check. The medication worked wonders, but it came with a price. Britt took things a step further and answered a question that had been somewhat unresolved. She looked Jason in the eye and told him, "Sidwell murdered Henry Dalton."

Britt exposed that the murder happened in front of her, so she knew for a fact how dangerous they were. Jason vowed to help her reverse-engineer the formula for the meidaiton, so she wouldn't have to rely on them. Jason cautioned her, though, that once she was in, she couldn't back out. Britt agreed.

Cullum continued interrogating Josslyn at Wyndemere, accusing her of not being who she claimed to be. Her ditzy college girl act didn't fool him, and he realized that there was much more to her.

Cullum asked what else would surprise him about her, and he wondered what additional secrets she had hidden in the vault. He stepped away to "check the other rooms," which gave Josslyn more time to snoop.

Josslyn found "Faison's" cigarillos and his book in Cullum's jacket, and she realized it connected to Anna's disappearance. Cullum caught her, but she talked way out of it and asked to read the book
