On the Wednesday, July 1, 2026, episode of General Hospital, Sidwell meant business, Carly ran to Wyndemere, two teenagers followed, Nina saved Jack, Joe gave Lucas some big news, and Cassius said goodbye to James.

Grandpa Sonny Time

In his office, Sonny did his best to convince Gio that Tracy was right and Gio would be safer living with the Qs. Gio didn't care and said that he had no intention of moving. Sonny wasn't going to give up. He loved having Gio live with him, but Sidwell was dangerous and wanted revenge.

Gio still argued, so they went another round about Gio making his own decisions and Sonny trying to keep his family safe. Donna and Avery were even away at camp to try and keep them out of danger. Finally, Sonny brought up Morgan, telling Gio that he was Gio's age when he died. He couldn't let the same thing happen again.

After Sonny explained what he has felt like since Morgan died, Gio finally understood why both Tracy and Sonny wanted him to move and agreed to go.

Jerome Gallery Madness

As Justine and Ava argued back and forth, Ava told Justine that she wouldn't spit on Jenz if he were on fire now that he'd tried to kill Lucas. Sidwell appeared with a gun and said he'd spit on Ava. He needed a traveling companion and was ready to take Ava.

Jenz went into a rant about how Lucas betrayed him, which is not something he took lightly, so Ava invoked Marco's name. "Do you think your beautiful boy would forgive you for trying to kill the man he loved?" Ava asked. "I suspect the only thing your son would want from you now is for you to burn in hell."

Sidwell just wanted someone to give him leverage with Sonny, but realized that Ava might not be the right person, despite the fact that they shared a child. He was going to take Justine instead. So, Jenz tried to shoot Ava, but Justine pushed him out of the way as the gun went off.

Ethan ran out of the gallery with Ava, while Jenz stayed behind with a gun trained on Justine. Ava and Ethan made it to a storeroom where Ethan revealed a gunshot wound near his buttocks. "He shot you in the ass?!" Ava exclaimed, before realizing how much blood Ethan was losing.

She bandaged the area to apply pressure after realizing that neither one of them had a phone to call for help.

Back in the gallery, Sidwell forced Justine to call Sonny on speakerphone. When Sonny said "Justine," Sidwell noted how they were on a first-name basis. Sonny also realized that Justine was in a lot of trouble. Sonny quickly drove to the gallery, where he assured Sidwell he'd come alone.

Nina to the Rescue

At Turning Wood, Nina panicked when she noticed Jack's condition. She realized Jack wasn't breathing and called for help, but didn't want to give away his cover, so she gave him mouth-to-mouth instead. Amazingly, it worked. Jack had Nina turn off the carbon monoxide gas and get the restraints off.

When she did, Nina decided she would pay to have Jack moved to another room under an alias so that Cullum wouldn't learn his plan didn't succeed.

It's Saline, Lucas

Carly ran into the ER looking for Lucas, who had been called in to treat a patient. In the exam room, Lucas examined Joe, who was anxious for a phone so he could put out an APB on Sidwell and Cassius. He ran from the room, with both Carly and Lucas shocked that Joe was putting out an APB on "Nathan West" and Sidwell.

Joe then passed out, with Lucas catching him. Lucas didn't even see Carly listening in on everything as she ran from the hospital straight toward Wyndemere. As Lucas gave him stitches, Joe explained what happened at the stakeout. Lucas was intrigued to hear the name Cassius Faison.

Lucas told Joe that Cesar Faison was Britt and Nathan's father. Joe felt stupid for trusting Cassius and telling him about the syringe. Lucas asked what syringe. Well, the one in Britt's room with saline, of course.

It's All Happening at Wyndemere

As for Carly, she made it to Spoon Island where she spotted a large truck by the launch. She broke into the castle and hid when she heard Cullum telling his goon that Dr. Obrecht's work was complete. She also heard him talk about eliminating Josslyn and Liesl.

When Carly thought the coast was clear, she started wandering the house again, but of course, Cullum caught her. Carly tried to scare Cullum by telling him that Valentin had gone to the WSB to rat him out. Cullum could just grin as Carly told him that his best option was to run. "If Valentin went to the WSB for help, he's even more naive than I thought," Cullum said.

Right behind Carly were Danny and Charlotte, who also found the truck by the launch to be odd. They realized that Cullum might be moving the device in the truck. They also had a bag that looked a lot like Cassius' bag, as Danny noted that they "only had one shot at this."

Cullum was sure that the WSB wouldn't believe a known criminal and fugitive and figured if the WSB believed him, they'd be there by now. Suddenly, they heard gunfire by the loading dock, which seemed to be firecrackers that Danny and Charlotte set off as a distraction.

The kids ran just as Cullum arrived. He sent his goons to find whoever did this and ordered the device to be loaded now.

In Wyndemere's sub-basement, Josslyn was surprised when Liesl showed her the wire cutters she had swiped from the lab. Josslyn took them right out of her hands and stabbed the wall, looking for wires. Liesl went to work on the wires. She cut a blue one, shutting the lights off. She got them back on and went to work on another wire, which opened the door. When they tried to run, they were greeted by a goon.

James Loses His 'Dad'

At the batting cages, an alarmed Cody listened to Felicia's message about "Nathan" and tried to stop him from taking James. The little boy said they were going to get ice cream, so Cody looked at Cassius and said that his dad had something he needed to do. Maybe Cassius should just get the ice cream himself.

Cassius knew that Cody was onto him and playing it cool to protect James. He realized he had to leave on his own, but not before he knelt down to say goodbye. "I made a mistake. I made a big one. And it's not one I think I can fix," he said. James was sure his dad hadn't done anything bad on purpose.

Cassius said he had, but he had to say goodbye now. James was practically in tears and wanted to go with the man he thought was his father, but Cassius wouldn't let him. He warned James he'd hear some bad things about him, but the one truth was that he loved him.

Cody watched as Cassius said a long goodbye to James, assuring him that he had many people around him who loved him. Finally, Cassius walked off and Cody took James in his arms to comfort him. Cody then let James call Felicia, who realized that Anna had been right (the whole time).

As for Cassius, he made it to his getaway car with a curious Ontario license plate.

Are Danny and Charlotte heroes? Are you rooting for Jack and Nina to get together? Is Sonny in love with Justine? Sound off in the comments.
