On the Tuesday, June 30, 2026, episode of General Hospital, Cassius didn't want to give up his "son," Sidwell found more hostages, Carly headed to Wyndemere, and Cullum tried to kill Jack.
Sidwell Makes a Run For It

After Cassius ordered Joe to put the gun down, the stunned cop told him to shoot him. The S.W.A.T. team was on the way, and they'd know who pulled the trigger. Cassius decided Joe was right, so he once again pointed his gun at Sidwell. He then ordered Joe to drop the gun or he would just shoot Ezra. Joe finally put the gun down and kicked it under the couch.
Cassius had Joe get on his knees with his hands behind his head before he pistol-whipped the detective. "Cassius, I never doubted you for a second," Sidwell said, but Cassius wasn't done and turned the gun on Sidwell again. "Did you really think I was going to let you blow my cover and walk out of here clean?" he asked.
Sidwell offered Cassius a lot of money to let him. They could be partners. Cassius refused to be a pawn any longer, but he did tell Sidwell to go. He just refused to let him have a weapon before he ran. When Ezra tried to leave, Cassius told him to help Joe when he came to. He knew he had to make a run for it, but he also had to see James. Outside, he looked at James' picture on his phone before seemingly making a switch with another phone.
Inside the house, Ezra went back and forth with himself over what to do. He wanted to help Joe, but he also wanted to save himself. As Ezra tried to leave, Joe started to come to. Ezra called for an ambulance and got some ice for Joe's head while they waited.
Cody Panics

Cody and James arrived at the ball fields, but Cody couldn't take video of James' practice because his phone was still wet. James handed Cody his phone so he could send video to his mom. They discussed what his family might be doing in the Grand Canyon, but James was happy to stay with Cody and his dad.
James wanted to go camping with Cody and James later in the summer, so Cody said to ask "Nathan" when he got there, although he should have been there by now. Before they could say too much more, Cassius arrived and told James it would be just them from now on because he had big plans.
Cody was happy when his phone suddenly turned back on. He walked away to listen to his messages and heard Felicia's warning about Cassius. An alarmed Cody turned around to see "Nathan" walking away with James.
Carly Panics

Carly approached Danny and Charlotte at the Q boathouse and assured them that nobody saw her coming. They explained that Charlotte had almost been kidnapped. Like Danny, Carly deduced that Cullum still didn't know Valentin was planning to turn himself in.
Carly decided she couldn't wait for the WSB to act on Valentin's info. She had to go to Wyndemere herself right away. The kids wanted to go with her, but Carly insisted they had to stay away. That's what both of their fathers would want. The kids said that their dads would also want Carly to be safe.
Finally, Carly convinced the kids to let her go, but Charlotte gave her detailed instructions on how to navigate the castle. If they did not hear from her by 8, they had to call Sonny. Of course, the kids decided they wouldn't do that. Instead, they were going to be Carly's backup, whether she wanted it or not.
Sidwell Gets a Gun

Nina met with Ava at the Metro Court pool, where Ava pointed out Ethan watching them. Ava told Nina that Sonny had sent Ethan to protect her. Nina enjoyed watching Ava and Ethan going back and forth with each other after noting Ethan's good looks.
Nina changed the subject and told Ava about Willow being hauled in for questioning regarding Jordan's accident. Ava found that to be odd. But their conversation quickly ended and Ava left with Ethan.
When Ava and Ethan returned to the gallery, they sparred some more. Ava knew that Sonny didn't care about her that much. He just wanted Ethan to spy on her. Just then, Justine walked in to have a chat with Ava about Sidwell. Ava cooperated and showed Justine all the receipts from Sidwell's art purchases.
Ava made sure to tell Justine that she "wouldn't spit on that man if he was on fire," which disappointed Jenz. He appeared out of nowhere with a gun trained on Ava and Justine.
Jack's in Trouble

At Turning Woods, Cullum continued to taunt Jack, who had to keep up the paralytic act. Cullum did all the speaking, of course. He had provided the hospital with a DNR so if Jack took a turn for the worse, nobody would help him. Cullum promised that Jack's end would be quick and come sooner than expected.
That's when Cullum suddenly placed an oxygen mask on Jack's face, which caused Jack to scream for help. The screaming gave away the game, as Cullum knew Jack had been faking his paralytic state. Cullum made sure Jack's wrists were restrained and connected the oxygen mask to what appeared to be an oxygen tank. He then turned the tank up all the way and left.
Jack gasped and screamed for help the best he could. Thankfully, Nina walked in and realized Jack was in big trouble.
Cold Fusion

In the Wyndemere sub-basement, Liesl returned to Josslyn's room to tell her that she had completed the cold fusion prototype. She couldn't stall any longer, which freaked out Josslyn. "What were you thinking?" was all Josslyn could ask her.
Liesl explained that she was willing to trust Cassius to get them out of their alive, but Josslyn didn't see the point if the bad guys got their hands the prototype. She also felt that Cassius was only looking out for himself. Liesl insisted that her son would help them, but Joss argued that Cassius was not Nathan.
Liesl was sure that Cassius was a good man in his heart, but Josslyn wasn't as convinced. She warned Liesl that Cassius would show his true self when she gave Sidwell and Cullum what they wanted. Josslyn also decided Liesl could help them escape. "If you can figure out nuclear fusion, you can figure out how to open that door," she said.
Saving Gio
Sonny was surprised when Tracy dropped by his office to discuss Sidwell and Gio. She knew Sidwell was gunning for Sonny and was concerned about Gio living with him. Sonny assured Tracy that he had taken precautions to keep his family safe. Tracy still wanted Sonny to kick Gio out and send him back to the Q mansion.
Sonny texted Gio to come over. He told Tracy what she was saying to him should be said to Gio. When Gio arrived, Tracy informed Gio that she wanted him to come home to protect him from Sidwell. Gio tried to argue, but both Tracy and Sonny pointed out why Gio would be safest at Tracy's house.
Gio admitted that he had grown to love the Qs, but he still wanted to live with Sonny. His grandfather had been there for him for his entire life, before he even knew they were related. Tracy wasn't happy with Gio's decision, but he wasn't going to leave his Grandpa Sonny.
Tracy made her case on more time, reminding Sonny that Michael was nearly killed in a fire bomb explosion meant for him. That gave both Gio and Sonny a lot to think about.
Will Cody stop Cassius? Can Liesl manage to get the door open? Are Danny and Charlotte about to make a big mistake? Sound off in the comments.
