On the Friday, June 5, 2026, episode of General Hospital, Cullum selected a replacement for Britt to complete Faison's final project.
What happened on General Hospital

Alexis informed Chase and Brook Lynn that the trip was a success because she tracked down Phoebe's biological father. They were scared that her father would want to reclaim custody of her, so she asked them to slow down. Phoebe's father was open to the adoption, which came as a complete shock to the couple.
Alexis went on to explain that the father wasn't in a position to parent the child, so he agreed to the adoption. Naturally, they wanted to thank Phoebe's father for agreeing to the adoption, but Alexis learned that they could never know who he was at his request. The most important thing was that Phoebe became their daughter, so they agreed to his request.
Brook Lynn explained that she had a crisis at Deception, so she couldn't stick around. While that might have been true, she also probably didn't want to risk running into Willow. After she threatened Willow during their last encounter, things were contentious to say the least.
Brook Lynn left, and she recalled the entire saga involving Chase and Willow, and she realized maybe she had a genuine reason to be worried about their connection. She sat down with Lucy, and she told her that she needed to discuss something personal and needed her help.
Ava smells a con

Ethan met with Ava, especially after hearing that she was in the know about Phoebe's paternity. At the very least, she suspected. Ethan wanted to smooth things over with Ava about their previous interaction since she had the ability to blow up his entire life. She quickly made it clear that she knew about his connection to Delilah and that he was the father of her baby.
Ava knew that Ethan was only there to ensure her silence. Ethan gave the entire speech about why he wanted to keep the adoption sealed, but Ava wasn't buying it. As the son of Luke and Holly, there was a significant chance that Ethan had some sort of scheme or con up his sleeve.
Ava threatened to expose everything because she was under the impression that all of it was a long con to get a windfall from the Quartermaine family. There was nothing preventing her from warning Brook Lynn about the father of Phoebe, if he was even actually the father.
The ex files

Willow needed her mother to help with Drew without making comments the entire time. However, before Willow and Nina could do what they needed to do, Liesl stormed into the house and demanded information about Britt's disappearance. She noticed Drew trying to convey a help signal, and despite their attempts to downplay things, she suspected they were keeping Drew in his locked-in state.
Liesl was terrified of what could happen to Britt the longer that she was on the run. She was battling a disease that will eventually claim her life, and she just wished Britt would've felt comfortable enough confiding in her about whatever was going on. Willow explained that she needed to take off to help Chase, which left Liesl concerned about Willow's investment in her ex-husband.
Nina and Liesl both realized that Willow was setting herself up for heartbreak when it came to Chase. There was no chance of this ending well. Willow was so blinded by the desire to help Chase that she was ignoring all of the warning signs in front of her.
Liesl walks into a trap

Cullum asked Sidwell for an update on the search for Britt, but his mind was elsewhere. He was looking for the man that murdered Marco, unaware that he was looking him directly in the eyes. Cullum had no compassion for anything that Sidwell was enduring because all he was focused on was the completion of Faison's final project.
Sidwell fired back at Cullum's inability to locate Britt since he had the entire WSB at his disposal. Cullum was having difficulty finding Rocco and Britt because Dante and Lulu weren't calling in any government favors. They couldn't risk attracting any additional attention on Rocco that would lead Cullum directly to him.
Cullum refused to give up on the project, and Sidwell understood the importance of finishing it. Later on, as Liesl was in her car and attempting to leave the GH parking lot, Cullum grabbed her from behind her seat and kidnapped her, presumably to force her into completing Faison's final project.
Playing with fire

Lucas successfully got his hands on the incriminating photographs of Sonny and Laura. This was everything they needed to counter any leverage that Sidwell had against them. With Sidwell deeply distracted by the Faison drama, Lucas was able to come through and swipe the only thing keeping them from eliminating Sidwell for good.
Laura refused to let Sonny murder Sidwell, even if it was in their best interests. Sidwell and Cullum had unmatched power, and despite Laura wanting to be a do-gooder, calling law enforcement was not necessarily an option. However, the only way it could work was if they found a way to catch Sidwell attempting murder while it was taking place.
Sonny was shocked that Lucas was so deeply involved in the plan to take down Sidwell after how poor their relationship had become. However, Laura reminded Sonny that it was an example of how passionate the love between Lucas and Marco was. Lucas has proven time and time again that there isn't anything he wouldn't do to avenge Marco's murder.
Sonny and Laura burned the evidence, but that didn't change the fight they had ahead of them. The photos may be ash, but Sidwell was still a threat. If they weren't careful, they could end up just like Marco.
