Alexis was furious with Danny after learning he'd be suspended for a week. He tried to say it was fine, but she told him things would operate very differently with him under her roof. Danny had gotten into a fight and understood he was grounded.

Alexis questioned whether or not she should attend Marco's funeral after Danny's school suspension. She informed Danny that he wasn't grounded, and he could keep his phone because he might need it. Danny claimed that the other person threw the first punch, and he was suspended on a technicality.

Alexis asked what the other kid did to start the fight, and Danny confessed that Jason was the subject of the disagreement. The kid taunted Danny about Jason being hauled away by the WSB, but Alexis felt like Danny was looking for a fight. Danny was very clearly struggling with the idea of his father being taken.

Alexis explained to Danny that getting into a fight wouldn't bring Jason home. She needed him to understand that he couldn't physically attack anyone. Alexis wanted Danny to avoid doing anything that could make things worse for him and their family. He asked if he'd ever see his father again, but she couldn't accurately answer that.

Kristina sat by Molly's bedside before her endometriosis procedure. Molly expressed sadness that she'd miss the grand reopening of Charlie's. She asked her sister what was next on the agenda, but Kristina didn't have an answer. Kristina offered to stay at the hospital with Molly, but she declined, saying she had it covered.

Molly awoke after her surgery to find Cody holding her hand at her bedside. She was a bit loopy from the meds, and she thought she was dreaming.

Curtis dropped by Nina's office and pointed out that she had forgotten to give him an important document. He tried to leave, and she stopped him to ask if their friendship was over. Curtis recalled what Nina did to Portia and questioned how they could ever move on from that betrayal.

Nina vowed that she regretted what Portia endured on the stand during Willow's trial. She apologized for how her actions affected Curtis and acknowledged that it wasn't something a friend would do. However, Nina believed that what Curtis did to her wasn't right either.

Nina reminded Curtis that he had outed her affair with Drew to Willow on her wedding day. Nina was robbed of the opportunity of coming clean to her daughter first. Curtis offered his own apology for what he did, even if Drew's actions led both to commit desperate acts.

Nina told Curtis that she regretted the possibility that their friendship was lost forever. She also apologized if what she did caused the demise of he and Portia's marriage. Curtis told Nina that the end of his marriage wasn't on her.

At Sonny's, Carly was vehemently against him and Ric attending Marco's funeral. Carly knew that Sidwell blamed Sonny for kidnapping Marco last year, and she was worried that he'd make things worse. She didn't want the funeral to turn into a mob war and potentially put her brother at risk.

Sonny felt that showing up at the funeral was the best way to prevent things from escalating. Carly asked how that would work, and Sonny said he had made peace with Sidwell, so not paying his respects might be the wrong look. Since Sidwell believed Sonny was responsible for Marco's death, Sonny needed to change the narrative. They needed to shift the focus off Sonny as the potential killer.

Carly understood the logic, but as a grieving father, Sidwell wouldn't be thinking rationally. She asked Sonny how he would've felt at Morgan's funeral if Julian Jerome walked through the door. After she left, Sonny regretted not being able to tell Carly about the blackmail. It was their only option because telling her would expose their secret to the world.

Ric was pleased that Laura followed their advice to go through with the press conference. Sonny wanted to get to the funeral as quickly as possible to avoid a full-blown mob war. It was in everyone's best interest for Sonny to get through to Sidwell that he had nothing to do with his son's death.

Lucas talked to Marco's portrait at his funeral service. He discussed how Marco stole Britt's medications from Sidwell's safe to prove himself to him. Cullum murdered Marco because of a test that Lucas put him up to. The ultimate price was paid.

Laura and Ava arrived at the church for Marco's service, and although Laura didn't know him personally, she wanted to do the right thing. Laura knew that if Marco was someone that Lucas loved, he must have been a good man. Ava confirmed that their love was strong, and she cherished the time she spent with them.

Sidwell told Lucas that he hoped Marco knew how loved he was. Lucas assured Sidwell that his son knew how supported he was and how deeply he loved his father. Sidwell questioned whether he deserved Marco's love.

Jordan was the next to arrive, and Sidwell wasted no time asking if she had uncovered any information about the investigation into Marco's killer. She didn't have any new information, but he wanted someone to confirm to him that Sonny was responsible. Sidwell believed that Dante refused to acknowledge any evidence that pointed the finger last summer.

Lucy hoped that Lucas wouldn't leave town following Marco's death. He said he wasn't going anywhere yet, looking directly at Sidwell as he spoke. Isaiah was the next to arrive, and he expressed regret that he was unable to save Marco's life. Lucas wished he had the chance to be by Marco's side in the end.

Lucas was saving the life of his boyfriend's killer as he bled out in the trauma room. Kristina showed up at the church, and Suzanne told her about Danny getting into a fight at school.

Jordan asked Laura if she'd heard from Sonny after the press conference. She admitted that she gave Sonny a heads-up before publicly disavowing him. Jordan was surprised at Laura and Ezra working so closely together, but it appeared to be going well so far.

Carly arrived next, and she expressed her sympathies that her brother's love was ripped away from him. She vowed that Dante would uncover the truth behind the murder. Carly wanted Lucas to know that there was no way that Sonny or Jason was behind Marco's death. However, Lucas was abundantly clear that he knew Jason wasn't responsible.

Jordan was surprised that Isaiah showed up at the funeral. As Marco's doctor and a friend of Lucas, he wanted to pay his respects. They observed Lucy approaching Ava, and that was a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. Ava and Lucy knew what it was like to lose a child.

Kristina arrived and told Sidwell that she was grateful for Marco rescuing her family from the fire. As she said that, Sidwell locked eyes with Sonny and Ric, who had just arrived. Sidwell stared a hole through the two men, and Ava came up beside Sidwell to inform him they were ready to begin the service.

Kristina asked her father if it was a good idea for him to be there. Sonny let her know that he hoped his presence would prevent any further issues. The service was done off-camera. Lucy expressed to Carly her regrets about Jason being taken away, and she suggested the idea that she could help Lucas find a new house.

Ava offered to stay at the church with Sidwell, but he asked for a moment alone. She encouraged him to call her if he wanted to vent to her about the death of his son. However, after she left and the church was cleared, Sonny and Ric made their way in and joined Sidwell.

Sidwell asked how Sonny dared to show his face there. He expressed sorrow for the loss of Sidwell's son. However, Sidwell didn't believe a word he said. If he wasn't sorry now, he would be.
