General Hospital's Jack Just Dropped a Bomb on Carly

General Hospital's Carly has been living her life in a practical bubble the last six months. With an attic boyfriend right upstairs at her beck and call, Carly embarked on a romance with Valentin Cassadine that has taken fans by as much surprise as it's taken the two characters, but that bubble may be about to burst and Jack Brennan knows it.

During all the months that Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) were roommates, the shadow of Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) loomed large and Carly knew it. She'd accused Valentin of still being in love with Anna multiple times. All he would tell her was that he would always have feelings for Anna, but what he had with Carly was also real.

Carly would like very much to believe that, but Jack sure doesn't. He has known both Anna and Valentin for decades and is well aware that Anna was the one who always got away, the one who was always on Valentin's mind.

After Carly told Jack (Chris McKenna) that Valentin had called to get information on Anna from a burner phone in her home, Jack told Carly what he saw as the truth. "You're great and all, but Anna is it for him," Jack said. Carly told Jack that he was wrong, but it was easy to see just how much that remark bothered Carly. Is Jack right? Will Valentin go right back to Anna once this entire ordeal is over? Or has falling for Carly really created a change in him?

A New Chapter for Valentin?

Who is to say that Jack is correct and that it will always be Anna for Valentin? He tried to run off and help Anna twice and both times, Carly managed to stop him. Sometimes you can fall for someone completely unexpected, who makes you change your focus in life and that could have happened to Carly and Valentin? Heck, with Valentin around, Carly has barely mentioned Jason during the months he has been away.

Might too much time have passed for Anna and Valentin? Perhaps they had their moment and are no longer meant to be. They even acknowledged that to one another. Plus, Anna could be a whole different woman when she finally returns from that French mental institution.

Or maybe GH has a brand-new triangle on its hands so that fans can go to their corners, take sides, and fight it out on social media for years to come? That's when you know a soap is doing something right.
