General Hospital's Sidwell just turned his grief into a weapon

General Hospital's Marco (Adrian Anchondo) didn’t die in some random act of chaos. He died because WSB Director Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) brutally stabbed him. But Sidwell (Carlo Rota) didn’t let his grief stand still. The loss hit him hard, but instead of breaking him, it gave him purpose. And that purpose points directly at Sonny (Maurice Benard).

Sidwell didn’t hesitate or doubt anything. He quickly concluded that Sonny was responsible. He’s clearly not thinking clearly because if Sonny were involved, they wouldn’t have found his body. Not even a sign that anything suspicious happened. Marco would have disappeared in the night, never to be seen again, likely taking a dirt nap in the Pine Barrens.

Sidwell isn’t someone weighed down by loss. He’s transforming it into purpose, turning the moment into something actionable. Marco wanted revenge because he believed Sonny killed his mother, Natalia (Eva LaRue). Now Sidwell’s going to avenge both of them.

And the first move is always the same. Find a target. Not necessarily the right one, just the one that fits, facts be damned. He’s so blind with rage that he is mentally unable to stop and think about what could have really gone down, or even inquire about what happened.

Sidwell is starting the wrong war

Cullum killed Marco. That’s the harsh truth right there, frightening and closer to home. Sidwell has been collaborating with him for what seems like a long time now. Both of them are trying to finish Faison’s (Anders Hove) last project: a cold fusion device that could help or harm the world.

And Sidwell has no idea that his ally is the one who killed his son. So his focus shifts. Sonny becomes the answer, not because it’s accurate, but because it’s clear. The kind of enemy you can confront without hesitation. This isn’t confusion. It’s a choice, made quickly enough to seem like instinct.

Sidwell knows exactly what someone like Cullum is capable of. Cullum was his guy, part of his circle, part of the system he created. That makes Marco’s death harder to separate from his own choices, so he’s shifted his focus to Sonny. And Port Charles will soon become a battleground even more violent and bloodier than what’s already happened recently.
