With General Hospital's Maxie Jones back in action, we've been very subtly reminded of how she ended up in the extended coma to begin with. Sidwell has been using Deception to transport rare Earth minerals and Maxie was on the verge of discovering exactly what he was up to. So, he did something funky to her face cream last summer, inducing a heart attack and putting her into a long slumber. But she is back just as Lucy has decided she is done with Sidwell and ready to rumble.
And Portia? Well, we now know when she conceived her child and with whom, which means she is in for a bumpier ride than she expects, maybe for more reasons than one. So, let's dig in with those two scoops and unpack the GH week that was.
Miracle Maxie does a Lulu

As soon as we learned that Kirsten Storms was going to take an extended break from General Hospital, we wondered if Maxie would do a Lulu and end up in a coma. And that is exactly what happened. This week, she did a Lulu again when she just stood right up after spending months in a prone position. No leg cramps, trouble moving at all. Maxie just walked to the door and started scolding James.
And we were grateful. Oh, so grateful! With Storms commuting between Tennessee and Los Angeles, we expect we won't see Maxie too often, so when we do see her, she doesn't need to be in a coma. There is no character more animated than Mariah Maximilliana Jones, so we didn't need to see her just lying in a hospital bed for weeks at a time. Less than one episode was plenty.
Now, it's time for the Deception ladies to get to the bottom of what really happened to Maxie. But first, Maxie has a not-so-dead husband to deal with, who may somehow tie into how Maxie ended up in that coma to begin with.
Lathan? Nulu? FakeNathan? What is happening here?

Sorry, we just can't do it. We know that Nulu or Lathan or whatever anyone wants to call them have a fan following, but this whole thing seems wrong. First, there is a better-than-average chance that this man is not actually Nathan, so that is the first problem. Second, there's Maxie.
Lulu really should wait to see how Maxie feels about Nathan being alive (assuming this is Nathan) before she does anything else. Brook Lynn made some super good points about Lulu needing to settle down and control herself. And maybe they both should be asking why Nathan has never made one trip to see Maxie in Boston the whole time he has been back. That sounds pretty darn suspicious to us...
Lucy gets down to business

Lucy is ready to bring down Sidwell just because he has brought Ava into their lives — and right on time, too. It's like all of Deception is lining up now that Maxie is back among the living. Lucy wants to know what the heck Sidwell has really been shipping in and out of Port Charles using Deception as a cover. It's why he wanted Sonny's piers, and it's why Maxie ended up in a coma.
Is the whole gang about to get together again? We know Maxie will want to get to the bottom of why she lost six months of her life. She was onto something before Sidwell poisoned her. We're pretty sure that between Maxie, Lucy, Brook Lynn, Tracy, and yes, Sonny, this will be done. The only problem might be Ava, who has no idea the mess she is about to get mixed up in. But that's just par for the course with Ava. Let the games begin.
Run, Lucas, run

Oh look! Lucas woke up. He finally realizes his smarmy boyfriend is actually a smarmy boyfriend. It's not like he hasn't gotten hint after hint for months, with Carly trying to beat him over the head with warnings. Nope, Lucas had to hear it for himself. That was the only way he'd wake up to reality.
We have a sinking feeling Marco is going to somehow convince Lucas to give him another chance, explaining things in a way that makes Lucas once again turn a blind eye. But we hope we are wrong. Lucas needs to get on that boat faster than he can blink and never return.
However, that would ruin the story. Carly has to get into the catacombs, so Lucas needs to stay or Valentin's plans will go up in smoke. Maybe Lucas can fake it till he makes it and work undercover with Carly to expose the chaos on Spoon Island. Then, they will all end up in Anna's Yoga room together before a final showdown.
Portia's problems

So, is that it? Curtis is the dad? No fake test results or switched results or will we learn about that somewhere down the road? We guess Curtis as the dad is more angst-worthy than Isaiah as the dad. Portia and Curtis might have agreed to joint custody, but that doesn't mean there won't be trouble.
Portia is convinced that Curtis and Jordan won't last as a pair because Jordan will lie and Curtis will lose his self-righteous, hypocritical little mind. So, she's not too concerned with Jordan being a part of her child's life. She should be a fly on the wall in Jordan's apartment as she and Curtis make big plans for her baby.
As an aside, we'd also like to see Curtis taking care of a newborn. Is he really planning on taking a newborn from its mother every other week? That just seems COLD and not very good for the baby. Curtis, you have NO idea what you are getting yourself into. Your first child came to you as a full grown college student.
Rescue heroes

Poor Jason. Poor, poor Jason. What is a mob hitman supposed to do when all these women need rescuing? Anna, Britt, Anna, Britt — which one does he save first? Jason just doesn't know, so he's having a sad. He may even need to rescue Carly and Josslyn soon, too. All in a day's work for the mob enforcer with a heart of gold, we guess.
We have a feeling Jason is going to be the one to save the day and save the world from cold fusion and whatever cold fusion does. Then, he will disappear. Hopefully, he won't be declared dead again because we're pretty sure he will reappear by summer and all that paperwork to be legally alive for the third time would be a bummer.
General Hospital kissing cousins

Before Jason runs off to rescue women and disappear, he had better make sure his teenage son is set. This week, Jason had to learn that little Danny is not so little anymore and kissed a girl. Too bad that girl was his cousin. And too bad General Hospital doesn't even care that they are cousins.
Look, we know that they are distant cousins, connected via one man who was born before the Civil War, but they are still related, and it still doesn't fly. Danny's great-grandfather was Charlotte's grandfather's brother and that's enough for us. GH, we know they have chemistry, but that's the problem you run into when your entire teen set is somehow related. Inappropriate chemistry will happen, but this needs to end now. Please and thank you.
Till next week, Scoopers, when Lulu reunites with Maxie and remembers her dad.
