Brother's Blessing

Donna and Sonny sat down to make invitations for a family barbecue, but Sonny was surprised when Donna said she wanted to invite Justine, the "ADA lady." Sonny told Donna that he wasn't sure Justine could make it because she had to work a lot.

"Well, I like her a lot. And so do you cause you always smile when she's around," Donna said. Just then, Ric stopped in and said he would be happy to attend the barbecue. "See? Uncle Ric's a busy lawyer, and he makes time for barbecues," Donna pointed out.

Sonny set Donna up on the patio with her markers so he and Ric could talk. Ric told Sonny that a situation had come up, before whipping out an engagement ring he had planned to give Elizabeth. He planned to propose that night. Sonny thought it might be a little too soon for that.

Ric stressed that he'd loved Elizabeth for more than 20 years, but Sonny reminded him that she'd been with a lot of other men during that time. "But we're good now. We're better than good, and I refuse to let her slip through my fingers again or risk losing her to some other guy," Ric said.

Sonny asked if there was another guy, so Ric told him no, but he wasn't going to waste time in case one came along. Ric explained his motives. He feared if he didn't propose soon, he would end up doing something to screw things up. Sonny worried that Ric's devotion would become an obsession, but Ric swore he had changed. Sonny finally gave Ric his blessing.

Sonny then found Donna on the patio and complimented her invitation. He didn't notice that she was hiding one for Justine.

Nurse on Duty

Dante and Elizabeth met up at the softball fields after another game. Dante was taking a break from his own game, but he asked Elizabeth to watch. She said she had to go home to put a bookcase together. Dante offered to come over and help out when his game was over. "It would make my day if I could help you," he said.

The two flirted some more, with Dante telling Elizabeth he had a magic touch and would be by after the game. And that is just what Dante did. Elizabeth was alarmed when she saw he had injured his knee. She almost didn't allow him to build the bookcase, but he insisted. Unfortunately, he didn't get too far.

Elizabeth brought Dante to the couch to rest his knee. The pair flirted some more until Liz decided that Dante needed a proper exam and asked him to drop his pants. Of course, that was just when Ric happened by and saw a fascinating scene through the window. He burst in and shouted, "What the hell?"

A New CEO

Curtis sat on Jordan's couch holding Desmond and telling the baby that he won't be able to see him much for the next two years. Jordan approached them and promised Curtis that she and Trina would make sure that Des knew who his father was.

"He'll still be so young when you get out; it'll be like you never left," Jordan said. Curtis was sad because he would miss the baby's first words and steps. Jordan assured Curtis that he could make up for lost time.

Michael stopped by after Curtis put the baby down for a nap. Jordan, Curtis, and Michael discussed Aurora business, as Curtis wanted Jordan involved with Aurora while he was in Pentonville.

Michael told Curtis that he had to bring in a new CEO for two years and asked Curtis to recommend someone. He recommended Jordan. Curtis went to check on the baby and asked Michael to convince Jordan to take the job. So, that is exactly what he did, leading Jordan to accept.

Pool Party

Drew approached Nina at the Metro Court pool bar to make snide remarks about them being near a body of water. "You may have forgotten what happened at the lake, but I sure as hell haven't," Drew remarked. "Just a word of caution. Don't get too close to the edge. I wouldn't want you to fall in."

Drew hobbled away in time for Jack to sit down with Nina. He was surprised when she asked him to dig up dirt on Michael. She told Jack that Michael now knew that Willow had shot Drew and was forcing her to live in the Q gatehouse where he could keep an eye on her.

Jack didn't want to get involved with this mess and advised Nina to stay out of it as well. "You cannot keep going to extremes to protect Willow and think you're going to get away with it," Jack said. When Nina turned around to look at Drew and tell Jack that she got away with the last stunt, she was surprised to see Drew with Ava.

She said she would talk to Ava about this meeting later, so Jack returned to doling out advice. "Nina, I think it's very admirable how much you care about your daughter, but there's a fine line between support and enabling...Pull yourself back, Nina, before Willow takes you down with her," he said. Like clockwork, Willow texted with a problem.

Ava sat down by Drew's table. When he pointed out that Nina was there, she worried that her BFF would question why she was meeting with Drew. "It's true that I've done regrettable things to both Nina and Willow, but if we're keeping score, it is nothing compared to what those two have done to me," Drew said.

But Drew didn't want to talk about Nina and Willow. He had news. Jason had quit working for Sonny. "My brother told me himself. He's going legit," Drew said. Ava thought hell must have frozen over. Ava and Drew were ready to take advantage of Sonny's newly weakened position.

Ava reminded Drew that she had walked away from the mob world, too, and was "no longer in the business of killing people." Drew didn't want Ava to kill Drew. He just wanted Ava to help him take Sonny's power. Drew asked Ava to tell him everything she knew about Sidwell's properties so he could try to outbid Sonny and Valentin.

After Nina ran off to take care of another Willow crisis, Jack approached them and urged Ava to "reconsider her choice of companions." Jack informed Ava that Drew hadn't been very nice to Alexis or Nina earlier. "It's unwise to make so many enemies...especially a man who has so much to hide," Jack advised.

Willow's Predicament

Willow opened her new-old front door to Kai and gave him a cold greeting. She was surprised when he handed her his resignation. Willow said that he could have just sent an email. Kai thought it would have been respectful to resign in person. "Where was your respect when you were spreading rumors about me to Michael?" Willow asked.

Kai told Willow that they both knew they weren't rumors. As Willow continued to deny any wrongdoing, Kai detailed everything that happened in Drew's house the night she shot Drew. She asked why he never went to the police. Kai told her that he still can.

Willow reasoned that Kai wouldn't go to the police, but then he'd have to explain why he was in the house to begin with. Willow even noted that the cops could suspect Kai. "Is this your move? You're just going to shift the blame onto me?" he asked.

Kai claimed that he only took a job as Willow's intern to make sure that she didn't hurt Drew again. She claimed she would never hurt Drew, so Kai accused her of shoving him into the lake. Willow denied that, but still tried to reason with Kai. Why was he pretending that Trina wasn't with him when Drew was shot?

She told him that he could give Trina a message to stop spreading false rumors about her, or she'd bring in her lawyers.

Finally, Kai became the audience and told Willow what we've all been thinking: "When will you stop lying, Willow? I understand that Drew is a jerk, but shooting him? That is not something that normal people do. Curtis got 10 years for punching someone, but you? You walk away with nothing. Drew almost died. And I sat on this for months. But then you try to take Michael's kids away after you let everyone think that he was responsible. No, Willow, no!"

A flustered Willow told Kai that this was none of his business. Kai agreed and said he was glad to be done with her brand of craziness. That was why he quit. "Kai, you threw a grenade into my life...Walking away unscathed won't be as simple as you think," Willow said. Kai wondered if that was a threat. Willow just said it was advice from someone with experience. "Once you get yourself mixed up in something this complicated, it is really difficult to get yourself out of it," Willow warned. "Watch me," Kai said before storming out.

Willow was busy weeping and throwing toys around when Nina arrived to solve another crisis. Willow actually admitted that she should have taken Nina's advice to fire Drew months ago and not escalate things with Michael. "I was so stupid...If I hadn't pushed so hard, maybe Kai and Trina wouldn't have gotten involved. But now Michael has all the power," she said. She was glad she had allies now.

Simon met with Trina, Gio, and Emma at the Surf Lodge. Emma was surprised to hear that Trina and Gio would be marketed as a couple and wondered why she'd never heard this. Gio claimed it's because they had no plans on doing it. Simon advised that Gio and Trina reconsider. "Fans will naturally wonder if you're together," Simon pointed out. "No one's asking you to actually date. We're just asking...don't say that you're not."

Gio didn't feel comfortable with that and tried to explain his point of view when Kai appeared and asked to speak to Trina alone. Outside, he told Trina that he had quit his job, but Willow still knew that Trina was involved that night.

Inside, Simon stressed to Gio and that he and Trina were talented, but also a dime a dozen. They needed to stand out with the right marketing plan. "This could do the trick. Think about it," Simon said.
