On the Tuesday, July 21, 2026, episode of General Hospital, Charlotte and Lulu's problems took center stage, as did Carly's problems with Sonny. But Laura had some answers, until she didn't. Read on to see what else happened in Port Charles.
Teenage Crush

Charlotte happily handed Gio his lifeguard whistle at the Metro Court pool. She was also happy to flirt with him until her mother came along to interrupt things. Charlotte's teenage attitude remained as Lulu suggested they come up with a solution to their problems. Charlotte had one. She wanted to live with Carly.
Lulu immediately said no, so Charlotte asked why she even wanted her there. She accused Lulu of only caring about keeping Charlotte away from her dad. Before they could argue more, Lulu had to leave, which hurt Charlotte. Later, she told Gio that she thought her mom hated her. Gio insisted that she didn't, but Charlotte felt she was just like her dad and Lulu hated him, so she had to hate Charlotte, too.
Gio told Charlotte that he got through a hard time with Dante by listening to classical violin, including a musician Charlotte knew. As they talked, Emma came along. Charlotte clearly looked jealous.
Police and Teenage Daughter Business

At the PCPD, Dante introduced Anna to Joe on her first day back at work. She would be shadowing Dante for a few weeks until she was ready to resume her role as police commissioner. Anna asked Joe if she could see all the files regarding the shootout on Spoon Island.
When she had a moment alone with Dante, Anna expressed how nervous she was to step back into things. Dante understood because the same thing had happened to him a few years ago. Dante offered Anna a listening ear for whenever she wanted one.
Lulu soon arrived to interview Anna, so Dante let them have the interrogation room. Rather than ask reporter questions, Lulu asked Anna about her relationship with Robin. Lulu got personal as she explained what was going on with Charlotte. Anna assured Lulu that things would get better.
A tearful Lulu asked to reschedule the interview and headed to the Q mansion to get Rocco. She met with Dante in the solarium, who told her that Rocco wanted to stay there to avoid the tension with Charlotte. Lulu said he needed to come home and work it out, but Dante didn't agree.
Lulu resigned herself to Rocco not coming home while he was angry at Charlotte, so Dante suggested just letting Charlotte live with her dad.
Back at the PCPD, Laura stopped by just as Joe told Anna that the evidence from the Pier 55 Cullum shooting was gone. Laura knew exactly who must have taken it.
Against Her Better Judgment...

Justine met with Sonny at the apartment above Charlie's. She was ready to play softball against him again. This time, law enforcement would win. However, Sonny wanted some info. Were there any pending charges against Valentin Cassadine? When Sonny told Justine that he was only interested because Valentin was seeing his ex-wife, she was ready to leave.
Sonny claimed he was only worried about Donna as he explained what Carly had been up to with Valentin since last December. He wanted Valentin away from his daughter ASAP. Justine informed Sonny that Valentin's criminal history had been wiped clean.
Sonny felt Valentin was a new low for Carly. "Why she can't see that she's involved with the man who's going to destroy her life, I don't know," Sonny said. "I ask myself that very question every day," Justine responded. Sonny reminded Justine they kept things secret, but Carly and Valentin were now out in the open. However, he assured Justine that he wasn't going to do anything dangerous about it.
Fathers and Grandmas

Earlier, Mayor Laura welcomed Valentin to her office for a little reunion. Valentin promised Laura that he wasn't going to waste this opportunity the WSB just gave him. He was going to raise his daughter in a safe and stable environment, but he needed Laura's help.
Laura didn't seem to want to get in the middle of things, but she did agree that Charlotte should have both her parents in her life. She still refused to help until Valentin acknowledged his own part in hurting Charlotte and Lulu's relationship. "Stand up for Lulu with Charlotte and then maybe I will stand up for you with Lulu," Laura said, pleasing Valentin.
Bearing Gifts

Carly welcomed a flower-bearing Brick to her kitchen. She accused him of doing Sonny's bidding to warn her away from Valentin. Brick admitted that was his mission. Carly was a bit taken aback when Brick told her that he had already told Valentin to leave town. She also knew he didn't take Brick's advice.
Brick got personal and told Carly that he had his own concerns. He wasn't going to sit idly by and let her get involved with Valentin. Carly reminded Brick that she knew all about Valentin's past, including when he poisoned her last year. She was still choosing to be with him.
Carly went on and on, defending the Valentin she knew now. He had even turned himself in to the WSB for her. "Josslyn is alive because of Valentin and that will always carry more weight than anything he's done in the past," Carly said. Still, Brick handed Carly a flash drive with everything she never wanted to know about Valentin.
After Brick left, Valentin appeared and pulled Carly in for a kiss. He felt good because he was sure that Laura would help him broker peace with Lulu. Valentin noted Brick's flowers and feigned offense at the idea that Brick didn't bring him any at the basketball court.
Valentin was curious what Brick had to say to Carly, so she told him he offered to give her a lesson on Valentin's past. Carly said he saved her daughter's life and that's what mattered. Valentin took Carly in his arms as she held the flash drive in her fist.
Dr. Britt Westbourne

At GH, Britt watched as Stella and Elizabeth gave Dr. Tristan Roberts more of a tour. Lucas sidled up beside her and informed Britt he was the hospital's newest cardiac surgeon. Britt told Lucas she was there to meet with the new hospital administrator and the head nurse to try to get her job back. Lucas wanted Britt to be successful, so he advised her to be a bit humble when she begged.
Lucas was surprised when Tristan began talking to Britt and noted they had met before. Tristan told Britt she could have her room back because Carly had offered him a discounted room at the Metro Court. Before Britt could say too much, Elizabeth informed her that they were ready for her.
It turned out that Stella was the new hospital administrator, so it was up to her and Elizabeth whether Britt could deliver more babies at GH. Britt's medical achievements spoke for themselves, but Britt needed to explain why she locked Liz in a bathroom last month. Britt claimed she just freaked, but she was sorry. Britt then went to bat for herself, telling the ladies she was an excellent doctor and deserved another chance.
In the end, Britt got her job back, as well as a spot as the newest equipment manager on the GH softball team. She would be playing with the other newest recruit, Dr. Tristan Roberts.
Did Britt deserve her job back? Are you interested in Charlotte's crush on Gio? Is Lulu being unreasonable? Sound off in the comments.
