GH Recap September 29: Sonny Denies Everything and Seems to be Telling the Truth

On the Tuesday, September 29, 2026, episode of General Hospital, Sonny swore he wasn't a criminal anymore, but only one person wanted to believe him. Plus, Jason had words with Danny, Rocco had words with Danny, and nothing got through to Danny, so the teens have a problem.

The Pentonville Attack

At GH, Elizabeth told Dante that he couldn't know for sure that Sonny was behind the Pentonville attacks. Dante still suspected Sonny. "I mean, who had no more motive, means, or opportunity for taking out Sidwell except my father," Dante said. "Michael almost burned to death in Sonny's house. There is no way he would let that go." Elizabeth hadn't realized that Sidwell had been behind the fire bomb.

When Ric arrived at the hospital, he spotted Dante and Liz together and tried to keep his cool. Dante walked away, so Elizabeth told him about the attack at Pentonville, alarming Ric.

In Curtis' room, Justine asked if Curtis was sure about the inmates naming Sonny as the man behind the attack. He said he was absolutely sure. Justine continued to question Curtis, wondering if he maybe misheard his attacker. Curtis remained adamant that he heard Sonny's name.

"Sonny set this up, so if Sidwell dies, Sonny will get exactly what he wanted," Curtis said. Once he was alone again, Curtis was surprised to hear that his lawyer had arrived. He was further surprised to notice that his lawyer was Monet, who seemed to be there to court him as a client. She was familiar with his case and thought he should appeal.

Later, Joe was puzzled because Justine accused Curtis of possibly lying. "We both know it wouldn't be the first incorrect accusation Mr. Ashford has made," Justine said, clearly trying to make herself feel better. Dante soon approached Justine and let her know that Sidwell was in surgery and might not make it.

Justine had to be honest with Dante. "Curtis said the assailants acted on your father's orders," Justine stated. Dante was more sure that Curtis was telling the truth than Justine was. "Curtis could have heard what he expected to hear," Justine remarked.

"It sure sounds like you really want my father to be innocent," Dante said.

Sonny Denies and Denies

Sonny welcomed Rocco to his home. Rocco quickly asked Sonny if he could make peace with Drew. Rocco assured Sonny that Drew hadn't been threatening him. He was just worried about Scout. Sonny noticed they had gotten close and realized Rocco feared Drew would stop him from seeing Scout.

Rocco pointed out that Drew kept Scout from her aunt and grandmother and only had her nanny. "Scout has a nanny?" Sonny exclaimed, as shocked as the rest of us any time Chelsea is mentioned. Sonny had bad news for Rocco. He and Drew would not be getting along any time soon. Rocco wondered if Drew and his grandpa could find a compromise, but Sonny did not see that happening.

Ric soon came barreling in, but stopped himself from accusing Sonny when he saw Rocco there. After Rocco left, Ric asked Sonny what he had sent Vito to Pentonville to do. Sonny seemed confused, so Ric told him about the Pentonville attack.

Sonny seemed genuinely surprised and swore he didn't send Vito to beat Sidwell and Curtis. He then opened the door to Joe, who wanted to ask some questions. Sonny and Ric played dumb for the detective. Joe surprised them when he said that Curtis named him as the man behind it all.

Ric found a way to get Joe to leave, for which Sonny was grateful. He told Ric that he had sent Vito to Pentonville to tell Sully to keep an eye on Sidwell and to intervene if somebody made a move against him. "Sidwell doesn't benefit me if he's hurt or dead, especially now that my business is legitimized. Everyone would just blame me and I don't want that," clearly hurt Sonny said.

"Have you considered that maybe Sully did the opposite of what you wanted on purpose?" Ric asked, alarming Sonny. He wondered if someone got the order wrong. Sonny also knew that Justine was never going to believe him and he may have been right.

Back at GH, Joe showed Justine and Dante security footage from Pentonville showing Sully and Vito conferring. Dante noted that both men worked for Sonny.

Cheap Wine and Champagne

At Lucas' place, Carly accused Lucas of lecturing her when he asked if she was in love with Valentin. "Answer the question and remove all doubt," Lucas said. He asked her again if she was in love with Valentin, but she didn't get a chance to answer because Britt arrived with a bottle of cheap champagne.

Carly was actually nice to Britt before leaving, which stunned Britt. Lucas poured the champagne and offered Britt a "Britch Pass," asking her what she was ready to complain about. Britt complained about Jason and was proud of herself for being the one to break things off. "He clearly is not able to give me what I need," she declared.

Lucas decided that Britt made the right choice. "You were never going to meet his expectations and he was never going to meet yours," Lucas said, which Britt took to be harsh.

Teen Troubles

Jason approached Danny outside the boathouse after hearing about Charlotte's move to boarding school. Danny just felt it wasn't fair because Charlotte was finally happy to live with her dad and now she was being sent away. "She got everything she wanted and now she's gone and all because she was just trying to help me," Danny lamented.

Danny explained the crazy Drew car plan to Jason, who was relieved this wasn't his son's idea. Jason realized that Danny tried to steal Tracy's car so he could save Charlotte. Danny claimed he had no other option. Jason chastised Danny for taking too many risks.

"Well, there were a lot of times when we were the only ones that we could count on," Danny said. Jason understood because he wasn't there. "I'm sorry about that," Jason responded. Danny was surprised when Jason said he thought it was a good idea for Danny and Charlotte to be apart for a bit.

Danny reminded Jason that he always said he should be free to make his own mistakes. Jason said not if those mistakes could get him killed. He warned Danny to tell Charlotte "no" if she showed up asking for help or an adventure.

After leaving Danny to silently lament, Jason stopped by Carly's house. Carly was sure that Charlotte would try to break out of school and call Danny for help. Jason felt the same and didn't think that his talk with Danny did any good. He also admitted that he would do the same for Carly, so he couldn't be angry.

Back at the boathouse, Rocco greeted a pensive Danny. He said he was sorry about what happened with Charlotte. Danny blamed Rocco for Charlotte being sent to boarding school. "I asked you here because I want to know how you're going to fix it. Your parents will do anything to make you happy, so get your mom to bring her home," Danny ordered.

Danny grew outraged when Rocco said he felt that Charlotte was better off at boarding school. "What happened with Drew was a wake-up call. Things could have gone so wrong," Rocco said. Danny blamed Rocco for Charlotte being gone because he ratted her out to Carly. Rocco blamed Danny because she took on his problems and got herself in big trouble.

Jordan and Michael...

In Jordan's office, Michael noticed that Jordan was distracted as they discussed business. She kept touching her scar, so he asked if she was in pain. Jordan admitted she sometimes gets residual pain, but she managed it. Michael admitted that he also still had some phantom pain from his burns. She turned the subject back to business.

During their talk, Michael suggested that Jordan fly to Paris for a business meeting. Michael gave Jordan every reason why she should go, but she was still hesitant. Finally, Jordan admitted that she'd be self-conscious about her scars. Jordan told Michael about her encounter with her sister and the remarks Monet had made about the scars.

"I thought people could see beyond them, that they could see me. And five minutes with my sister made me realize just how foolish that is," Jordan said. After some more talk about burns and scars, Jordan received a call from Elizabeth telling her that Curtis had been attacked.
