This year's Daytime Emmy nominees for Outstanding Drama Series were:

Beyond the Gates (CBS)

Days of our Lives (Peacock)

General Hospital (ABC)

The Young and the Restless (CBS)

And the Winner Is...

General Hospital ultimately took home the Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Drama for the sixth consecutive year. GH had a year of emotional episodes that included the death of Leslie Charleson's Monica Quartermaine. Those episodes helped win GH the Emmy this year, as the Quartermaine family dealt with the loss of their matriarch, and Tracy dealt with the loss of her "sister" and best friend.

That storyline also included Erika Slezak, a six-time Emmy winner for her work on One Life to Live. Slezak played Monica's long-lost sister, Veronica Bard.

GH also brought Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) back last year and involved her in a dangerous story on Spoon Island. The Sidwell (Carlo Rota) intrigue also helped propel GH to its Daytime Emmy win.

Executive Producer Frank Valentini accepted the award on behalf of the show with his cast and crew surrounding him, including Laura Wright (Carly Spencer).

Jeff Kober, who played Cyrus Renault, also took home the gold in the Outstanding Guest Performer category.

Soap Central congratulates General Hospital and all the winners on their Daytime Emmy win.
