Kelly Monaco: Drew vs. Danny: General Hospital's Kelly Monaco Has Her Say

General Hospital fan favorite Kelly Monaco may be gone from Port Charles, but she still keeps tabs on the show via social media. The actress is weighing in on a post that has Sam's son, Danny, at odds with her ex-on-screen love interest, Drew!

Recently, Cameron Mathison (Drew) and Asher Antonyzyn (Danny) did a playful social media reel with some help from Kayden Brenna Tokarski (Scout) in which the antagonism between the characters of Drew and Danny was highlighted.

The "Not the Same Person" TikTok video was made popular by YouTuber stars Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden that reached popularity in recent years.

"I am Danny. I am Drew. And we are not the same person," the two actors performed. Then, Tokarski's face pops onto the screen as she asks the two men to stop!

Monaco saw the video and decided to chime in with her choice. "Danny!" she exclaimed, opting to go with her former TV son.

GH fans were thrilled to hear from Monaco and expressed their wishes that Sam would do the Lazarus bit in Port Charles, as so many other characters have done over the decades.

While Mathison and Antonyzyn get along swimmingly, their characters do not. Mathison has taken the direction that the writers have given Drew and is running with it beautifully and dastardly! Drew does not think that Danny is a good influence on Scout and has employed every means possible to keep the two apart -- even though they are half-siblings.

Monaco's been off the show since 2024. Sam went under the knife to donate part of her liver to help a dying Lulu (Alexa Havins). While she was in recovery, an unbalanced Cyrus (Daytime Emmy winner Jeff Kober) killed Sam in some misguided effort to ... we're not really sure why Cyrus felt that Sam needed to die, actually?

Monaco's TV mother, Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis Davis, turned in a tour de force, as Sam's mom raged against the world, devastated by her daughter's untimely and senseless death. Grahn's scenes won her the 2025 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, her third statuette.
