General Hospital star Kelly Monaco, who played Sam McCall for decades, is celebrating her birthday, and it's a milestone year! Soap Central chatted exclusively with Monaco's talent manager, daytime icon Michael Bruno, who reps Michael Easton (ex-Finn), Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, Days of our Lives; ex-Katherine), Daniel Goddard (ex-Henry; ex-Cane, The Young and the Restless), and Rebecca Budig (Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Hayden), for an update on the fan favorite. "First, happy birthday to my favorite new client, Kelly Monaco," Bruno enthuses. "She's such a bad-ass."Kelly has been going out for a lot of primetime roles," shares Bruno, adding with a wink, "And maybe, a return to daytime is just around the corner. Have a wonderful day, Kelly!"Monaco burst onto the daytime scene as Livvie Locke on the half-hour ABC soap opera Port Charles. She played the part from 2000 to the show's finale in 2003. Several soaps were rumored to be interested in the star, but she stayed close to home, joining the cast of Port Charles's sister soap, GH, in 2003 as con artist extraordinaire Sam McCall.The Jason (Steven Burton)/Sam pairing took off, and the couple emerged as one of GH's most popular pairings ever. Sam had other love interests over the years, including Sonny (Maurice Benard), Patrick (Jason Thompson), and Drew Cain (when played by Billy Flynn; now, that role is played by Cameron Mathison).In 2024, Sam was told she was a bone marrow match for Lulu (Alexa Havins), who needed a donor.
