General Hospital, DAYS, and Another World Star Robert Kelker Kelly Dead at 62

General Hospital actor Robert Kelker-Kelly, who played the second Stavros Cassadine, has died. He was 62 years old. The actor also played Sam Fowler on Another World and Bo Brady on Days of our Lives.

In Memoriam

TMZ first reported Kelker-Kelly's passing. A medical examiner in Missouri told the newsmagazine website that the actor died on October 3. At press time, no cause of death had been announced.

The actor first hit the soap scene in 1987 when he was cast as Sam on AW, opposite Sandi Ferguson, who played Amanda. Sam was the half-brother of Mitch Blake (William Grey Espy).

After exiting Bay City, Kelker-Kelly did the impossible, stepping into the role of Bo on DAYS, following Peter Reckell, who originated the character, leaving the show. Despite fans embracing Kelker-Kelly in the role and embracing his on-screen romances with Crystal Chappell's Carly and Lisa Rinna's Billie, DAYS opted to release the actor from his contract in 1995. Reckell returned to the role.

Kelker-Kelly returned to Bay City in 1996, not as Sam, but in the role of Bobby Reno, a race car driver, who later turned out to be Dr. Shane Roberts. Shane was killed off in 1998, a year before AW went off the air.

From Bay City to Salem to Port Charles

Next, the actor took on the part of Stavros Cassadine on GH, who was presumed dead in 1983. He suffered a serious injury after falling down the stairs of the mayor's mansion after breaking into the residence so he could attack Luke (the late Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis). Actor John Martinuzzi (ex-David Preston, Guiding Light) originated the role of Stavros.

After Stavros was presumed dead again, he returned to GH in 2013 during the show's 50th anniversary. A resurrected Stavros kidnapped Lulu (then, Emme Rylan; now, Alexa Havins) and put her on ice, calling her his (what else?) "Ice Princess." Stavros returned the following year and was shot and killed by Dante (Dominic Zamprogna).

Rinna addressed her working relationship with Kelker-Kelly on DAYS in her memoir. She claimed that her former leading man was abusive during their time together in Salem. Kelker-Kelly did not respond to Rinna's writing.

The actor married his former DAYS co-star Miriam Parrish (ex-Jamie, who was Sami Brady's pal). He also worked as a pilot. The actor does not appear to have a social media presence.
