General Hospital made Marco's bloody attack look as realistic as possible. The stabbing victim's portrayer, Adrian Anchondo, shared on social media the creative measures the show's makeup team took to create the horrific injuries!

General Hospital makeup turns horror into craft

GH’s official Instagram shared photos and wrote, “It takes a lot of work to make a crime scene that gruesome. Hats off to our hair and makeup teams for their amazing work! @javichondo #GH #GeneralHospital #BehindtheScenes.”

The GH Makeup Crew also posted a video and captioned it, “It takes a village to create a crime scene. Our makeup team did an outstanding job on @javichondo. It truly was a team effort.”

Then Anchondo shared the photos on Threads and wrote, “Is this the end of the road for Marco? Find out tomorrow on @abc @generalhospitalabc. I can't even begin to express how grateful I am to this team.” The images and video showed Anchondo grinning through layers of blood, torn clothing, and the kind of nasty wound work that made Marco look like he’d just lost a fight with a butcher shop. (Will Marco pay with his life?)

The scene worked because the details did

The cast chimed in, with Finn Carr writing, “You all are amazing!!” and Jen Ray (Suzanne) adding, “I love your village!” Which, honestly, feels right. This kind of work really does take a small army and a lot of fake blood.

Fans had thoughts, naturally. @priscilluxe called it “a bloody good time @aliewhittle,” while @debbieschappell wrote, “It's awesome the way they make it look so real.” @wan_nabe joked, “He looks so happy for a stabbing victim,” and @generalhospitalblog kept it short with “Incredible!!!”

That’s what came through in all three posts. The makeup didn’t just cover a wound; it depicted the ugly aftermath of one. The blood loss, the swelling, the torn shirt — the entire miserable look of a man who definitely shouldn’t be smiling between takes, but Anchondo flashed a million-dollar smile all the same.

And viewers noticed. Some begged the show not to kill Marco. Others praised how realistic it looked. Some outright said they couldn’t watch. That’s the sweet spot for soap effects. If fans are wincing, stressing, and still stopping to praise the makeup team, the job has been done.
