This week, General Hospital characters Felicia and Anna talked about Anna's ex, Robert Scorpio, coming to Port Charles for a visit. Robert's been living happily off-camera in France with Holly, his daughter, Sasha, and granddaughter, Daisy. In real life, Robert's portrayer, Tristan Rogers, passed away in 2025.
Funeral for a Friend

Almost a year ago, at the Daytime Emmys, GH's co-head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, who won the statuette for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team, revealed to TV Insider that there were plans for a tribute to Scorpio and Rogers when the show got around to writing in the super spy's passing.
GH excels with tribute episodes. The ones for the late Jacklyn Zeman's Bobbie and Leslie's Charleson's Monica hit all the emotional beats, enabling both characters and viewers to continue the healing process.
“Our plan is to absolutely do that,” Van Etten said about not only penning a tribute episode to Scorpio, but also to Lesley (Denise Alexander), Laura's mother, who also passed away in 2025.
“We want to make sure that we achieve the same goal that I think we have with the story of Monica’s passing," Van Etten offered. "We want a story that will carry [Lesley and Robert’s] names into the future, so that we still feel Robert’s and Lesley’s presence for years to come.”
Ice, Ice, Baby

Rogers joined GH in late 1980 as WSB (World Security Bureau) agent Robert Scorpio, who came to Port Charles to track down the elusive Ice Princess. The caper was already underway as Laura (Genie Francis) had taken a job at ELQ as the company's receptionist.
Alexandria "Alex" Quartermaine (Renee Anderson), Edward Quartermaine's (David Lewis) niece, hired Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) to track down the elusive Ice Princess. At first, Luke and Laura were at odds with Robert, but he soon became a trusted ally.
Luke and Robert's friendship was tested after Luke was presumed dead in an avalanche. In a gesture of romantic gallantry, Robert proposed marriage to Holly (Emma Samms), Luke's pregnant girlfriend. (This was when Laura had been kidnapped by the Cassadines and was believed dead.)
Luke, paralyzed in the avalanche, regained his ability to walk, and he returned to Port Charles, stunned to learn that Robert and Holly had married. Initially, there was a rumored plan for Luke and Holly to reunite, but producers picked up on the enormous chemistry between Rogers and Samms (both on and off-screen), so Robert and Holly stayed together.
However, both were presumed dead at different times, leading to them being separated. The arrival of Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Robert's ex, complicated Robert and Holly's marriage, especially after Robert learned that he had a daughter, Robin (Kimberly McCullough),
A few years ago, they reconnected, and in 2024, Robert and Holly walked off into the sunset (or rather, the fog) together.
Robert had embarked on a romance with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), which might have developed into something lasting, but Robert's greatest love is always going to be Holly.
The show revealed that Robert and Holly's secret daughter was Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), who was raised by Holly's mother.
A speculative guest list as to who could attend Robert's memorial includes Anna (Finola Hughes), Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Mac (John J. York), Robert's brother, Laura, Diane, and his daughters, Robin (Kimberly McCullough) and Sasha.
Soap Central will keep readers updated as news of Robert's on-air memorial is announced.
