General Hospital's Kate Mansi steps out of Port Charles and onto the big screen

General Hospital fans can have a grand time catching two of their favorites in a new movie project.The film Casa Grande is out in selected theaters across the country. The film stars Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos-Davis) and Lauren Swickard (Nurse Janice) in an ensemble cast.

From Port Charles to a western

Casa Grande is based on a streaming series created by Swickard, whose husband is GH star Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase). She also played Janice, a nurse at Ferncliff when Dr. Montague had Sasha committed. Lauren Swickard also serves as executive producer. Mansi reprises her role as Hunter Clarkman, a member of the lead family in the original series, which aired five episodes in 2023.

Emmy-nominated actor Lou Diamond Phillips (La Bamba, Stand and Deliver) headlines the movie, which brings back characters from the original series, set in Northern California.

IMDb describes the film as such: “A prodigal daughter rejoins her family at their farm during a difficult time, as her ailing father faces both a terminal diagnosis and mounting pressure from competitors. Old wounds resurface as they grapple with what lies ahead.”

General Hospital star shines in a different casa

In the trailer, you can see Lou Diamond Phillips as a dangerous villain, threatening people with guns. You are also treated to a scene of Mansi conking a masked man on the head with a shotgun. The photos she's shared photos on her Instagram account suggests she gets involved in a lot of other high-stakes action. You can also spot a picture of herself with Phillips as well.

Swickard plays Rowan Reyes, who is related to Phillips’ character, which would put her character at odds with Mansi’s character. She has promoted the film on her Instagram account.

Casa Grande was filmed more than a year ago in Nevada. It was directed by Juan Pablo Arias Munoz and written by Munoz and Sherell Jackson. Other stars include Madison Lawlor, Christina Moore, Daniel Edward Mora and Bruce Davison.

Mansi promoted the film at the Napa Valley Stream Fest last weekend, where it had a screening. She also shared a highlight reel and other photos of her experiences there in separate posts. You can find all the cities where it is currently playing here.
