Trina Robinson: General Hospital's Tabyana Ali Brings Trina's 'Pray' to New Music Video

General Hospital star Tabyana Ali, who plays singer Trina Robinson, has released her song, "PRAY," on iTunes and other music platforms. Now, she's delivered the tune's music video, too!

Sing, Pray, Self-Love

"PRAY" began as a poem, composed by the GH star. After she shared her poetry with the ABC soap's creative team, the writers decided to write Ali's real-life musical talents into the show by pairing her with Gio (Giovanni Mazza).

Ali wrote the song's track with help from lyricists Jennifer Aiden, Sarah Lindsay, and producer Kevin No. Pray debuted on GH on the episode that aired on September 1 of this year. Trina and Gio performed it at the Cat's Eye Lounge.

Ali's not the only GH performer to have a music career outside of soaps. Rick Springfield (ex-Noah) sang the hit song "Jessie's Girl." Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco) performed "Lady of My Heart," "All I Need," and "Sneak Attack." Wally Kurth's Ned embarked on a musical career, singing tunes including "The Seventh Son," going by the handle "Eddie Maine."

Trina and Gio Make Music

Pray speaks to an emotional realization about remaining in a relationship when, in reality, walking away from said relationship would be an act of self-love.

Currently, Trina has a lot on her plate. She's dealing with the fact that her biological father, Curtis (Donnell Turner), who is currently incarcerated for assaulting Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson), recently landed in General Hospital after being assaulted himself in prison!

Sonny (Maurice Benard) is being framed for ordering the assault. As he is Gio's grandfather, Trina may have a big problem performing with Gio and moving forward with their music careers.

Recently, GH announced the return of Alley Mills to the show as Heather. While suffering from cobalt poisoning, Heather assumed the identity of the "Hook," a serial killer who started bumping off people connected to Trina.

Heather's late daughter, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), saw Trina as a threat to her relationship with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). She followed them to Paris and attacked the young lovers. Spencer and Esme presumably met their makers as Spencer died while protecting Trina, taking Esme with him into a watery grave. (Though aren't we praying, no pun intended, that they're both still alive?)
