'General Hospital's Maxie is living down under, far away from the drama of Port Charles. In real life, however, her portrayer, Kirsten Storms, is speaking out about her real-life drama, related to reports of a break-in at a former residence of hers, and custody of her daughter with former husband, Brandon Barash.
Reel Life v. Real Life

Please do not tell me (or ask me) not to post these things…" Storms began an Instagram post (that has comments disabled) and can be read in full above.
"I’m hoping this is the last item I post (of the documents I have on the break-in at my old apartment in Tennessee)," the actress continued. "I’m only doing this because that [led] to an **unnecessary custody case** being filed against me. (Side note: I’m now being asked to attend mediation. Not being asked to be in front of a judge. Please read into that.)
Further Details, Backstory

"When 'mental health illness' is used as a reason to disregard a very real crime, like a burglary & break-in, that I was working to resolve with the apartment building and the Franklin Police Department, it- is-*offensive*," Storms maintains. "I have always been proactive about my medical care (all aspects), as well as Harper’s (<—— the MOST important person to me). I’ve also been attempting to get checkups with a neurosurgeon/neurologist for my brain aneurysm and brain cysts.
"And tbh," Storms goes on to share, "I have a psychologist that I’ve seen for years, who I’m kinda attached [to]. She’s f’ing incredible and understands the kind of therapy sessions I need. Addressing what should NOT be the focus (mental illness) is frustrating for me.
"I’m sure it’s annoying to continue to see me post about this," the actress adds. " However, the break-in…followed by a 'custody case/now mediation request' where the break-in was the main reason for the initial custody filing, was unwarranted. (When you read this, just know I had a Jeep Wrangler with the doors removed. That was how someone was able to *continue to give the items back* that were removed from my apartment. By leaving them one at a time on a seat in my car.)"
Storms took a break from GH last year. Her absence was written into the show by having Maxie enter a coma. When she returned, she learned that her "late husband," Nathan (Ryan Paevey), was back among the living. It turned out not to be Nathan, but rather his twin, Cassius.
Alas, Storms didn't play that discovery on camera as Storms has once again left the show. Maxie is now living in Australia with her family.
