General Hospital star Nancy Lee Grahn has played Alexis Davis for 30 years! The actress is now sharing some news about her future status with the show that's been her home for the last three decades.
In the Suds

Grahn, who won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2025 for her performance as Alexis, sat down with SOAPY hosts Greg Rikaart (Leo, Days of our Lives) and Rebecca Budig (Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful), to chat about her life, her time on both GH and on Santa Barbara, where she won her first Daytime Emmy, playing Julia Wainwright.
Asked about her castmates, Grahn enthused, "I know this is gonna sound 'pie in the sky,' but we all like each other there a lot."
While Grahn has a great dynamic with the many actresses who've played her TV daughters (she's down to one now, Kristen Vaganos, who plays Molly), Grahn says that she is "closer to the people that have been doing this for a long time," referring to castmates Maura West (Ava) and Finola Hughes (Anna).
"We've been in the trenches a long time [and we have] all those experiences," she adds. "It's such a fun group. There really isn't a lemon in the bunch."
Life in Port Charles Goes Gon

The main reason Grahn joined GH was that she wanted to have a child, and she felt that the security and stability of daytime TV were great for moms. Plus, she loves being able to cut loose, dig deep into a character, and play dramatic moments. "I still have fun," she says. "[It] really feels good to do really good work."
Last year, Grahn won her third Daytime Emmy (her second for playing Alexis) for the storyline in which Alexis' daughter, Sam (Kelly Monaco), died. Sam had agreed to donate part of her liver to Lulu (Alexa Havins). The operation was a success. Sam was expected to make a full recovery, but she was murdered by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Grahn's reel contained episodes in which Alexis dealt with Sam's untimely passing.
While talking to Budig and Rikaart, Grahn shared some news that's going to make her fans happy. "I just resigned my contract," she shared on SOAPY. The actress said that her new deal is for three years. "I'm grateful for this part of my life."
