Billy Miller: Kelly Monaco Honors Late GH Star Billy Miller On His Heavenly Birthday

General Hospital star Kelly Monaco, who played Sam McCall, is remembering her late boyfriend, Billy Miller, who played Drew Cain. Miller died in 2023, a few days shy of his 44th birthday. He left a letter behind that he wrote when he left Port Charles, which Monaco is now sharing.

Goodbye, Until Next Time

"It's Billy Millers [sic] Heavenly birthday," Monaco began an emotional post to the late star. "He sent me this a few years ago, after he left @generalhospitalabc wanting me to post it.. I didn’t. But… I know he wanted anyone who’s ever supported his work and or got to know him as a friend, to read this letter.

"He is a gift that keeps giving. @generalhospitalabc @youngandrestlesscbs @boldandbeautifulcbs @dayspeacock @allmychildren @beyondthegatescbs 😇🙏🏻💝#duces."

The letter, which can be seen above, reads as follows:

Hello friends,

With a slight air of sadness, it is time to ponder what “goodbye” means. However, instead of dwelling on what is gone and sure to be missed is another way.

Maybe our goodbye is really a remembrance of love felt, an appreciation of lives shared, and the lifelong reminisces. That comes from embraces given and received. Maybe our goodbye is an earnest hope for the brightest path forward for us all. Maybe our goodbye is honoring growth and lessons learned

Now, instead of sadness, I am filled with gratitude for all your support, encouragement, and every emotion shared. I cherish the journey we have taken together. Thank you for allowing me into your homes and lives. With every ounce of myself, I thank you for being you.

I would be remiss in this crazy, unpredictable world we all love so much if I did not hold out the possibility that maybe our GOODBYE is reallya [sic]…

"He loved you so much Kelly ❤️ and he was loved by more people than he knew," wrote blossomcbrown. "I don't know if you remember this but while I was delivering a pizza I had ran to you both on the [Hollywood] Walk of Fame and I asked for a pic of u both, you both were so kind and so sweet. I was the tall Black transwoman. May he rest well!"

Monaco left GH in 2024 after Sam was killed by Cyrus (Jeff Kober), after Sam donated part of her liver to help save a dying Lulu (Alexa Havins).
