"I used to watch TV with my mom and tell her, 'Please, I really want to do this,'" she shared. However, it took many years for her parents to give in. The actress says that her family didn't have connections, and there was a concern of stories about what happens to child actors in the industry. After seeing their daughter in a school play, Tokarski says her parents began to take her desire seriously. The 16-year-old had auditioned for Mark Teschner, GH's casting director extraordinaire, many times. She submitted a self-tape for the role of Scout. She says she was "blown away" upon learning that she was getting a meeting with the show's producers.About an hour after her audition/meeting, which she felt went very well, Tokarski learned that she'd landed the role. She says that GH held a special place in her heart as she watched it with her mom, and her mom watched it with her mom. "It was such a full-circle moment," she said. The actress says there are similarities between Scout and her late mother, Sam (Kelly Monaco). "I think she’s a strong fighter, and I think she is smart and funny," Tokarski says. "I think many people are concerned that she’s going to be very bratty, but I think just the opposite — I think she’s a lovely teenager who’s navigating a lot of things in life, but she’s a problem-solver and always trying to keep the peace and help others."Meeting Willow and Drew..and Everyone! View this post on Instagram Instagram PostOne of the first actresses that Tokarski says she met was her TV stepmom, Willow, played by Katelyn MacMullen. "I was so nervous on day one, so overwhelmed with so many things, and I’m so lucky that Katey is who I was working with," the GH newcomer says. "She was so wonderful to me. I asked her a million questions, and she said, ‘Please, ask me more!'”Tokarski hastened to add that "everyone here is wonderful, but [Katelyn] was my starting point, and she really was a breath of fresh air. I don’t know what I would have done that first day if it wasn’t for her!”The young star is also happy to be working with TV dad, Cameron Mathison (Drew). "Cameron is one of the most positive masculine figures I have ever worked with in my entire career,” she raved, citing the fan favorite's professionalism and caring. "He gives me those really great ‘girl dad’ vibes, and I just love working with him.”Scout is unaware that her father, Drew, is being drugged and held captive against his will, being kept in a stroke-like state because her stepmother, Willow, is plotting against him. Will Scout play a role in freeing her father?
