Serena Baldwin, now played by Kelly Kruger, returned to General Hospital today. She reconnected with surrogate mom, Lucy, and let her know what her father, Scotty, has been up to as of late. Scotty's got some other women in town who are very dear to him, including Lucy and Laura (Genie Francis). In fact, Laura and Scotty's young love story, which dates back to the late 1970s on GH, played no small role in skyrocketing the show to the top of the ratings. Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) was determined to break up the couple so that she could have Scotty, then a promising law student, who would likely go to work with his father, attorney Lee Baldwin (Peter Hansen), for herself. Bobbie lied to Scotty that she was pregnant with his child, but she had switched the tests with one of Dr. Gina Dante's (Donna Baccala) patients so that she could convince Scotty that he'd fathered her child. The truth was exposed, paving the way for Laura and Scotty to reunite, and they were able to eventually marry. Alas, the union didn't last long. Scotty was at Laura's next wedding -- but not as the groom! He caught the bouquet at Laura's wedding to Luke (Anthony Geary), declaring that there was no marriage! Laura and Scott made up years later and even gave marriage another shot, but that union failed as well. Could a third time be the charm?
