As previously reported, Kelly Kruger is joining the cast of General Hospital. The former star of The Young and the Restless is going to be playing Serena Baldwin, the daughter of Scotty Baldwin and the late Dominique Taub. Now, Kruger is revealing details about her Port Charles debut!

Serena Baldwin, Welcome Home

Kruger took to social media to tease her upcoming return to daytime. She'll make her GH debut later this month. "Who’s ready to meet Serena???" Kruger posted. "It’s official!!! My first air date on @generalhospitalabc will be 7/30.

"I hope you love her as much as I do!!!!" the actress, who also recurred as Eva, Forrester Creations International Publicist, on The Bold and the Beautiful, continued. "So excited to be back on your screens again!! I am the luckiest person in the world to work with these amazingly talented people on GH. Thanks for welcoming me with open arms."

Kruger playing the role of Serena has fueled fan speculation that we could also be seeing the return of her father, Scotty, played by Kin Shriner. The Port Charles legal eagle left the story canvas almost two years ago. Shriner's been active on social media, recalling many moments from GH's Golden Age, under the creative leadership of the late Gloria Monty, and late head writers Douglas Marland and Pat Falken Smith.

The Laura (Genie Francis), Scotty, and Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) triangle helped catapult GH from a low-rated serial to a highly-rated one. Viewers loved to hate Bobbie's antics as she and her brother, Luke (Anthony Geary), schemed to ship Laura off to reform school!

Shriner exited the series during the famous "Love on the Run" summer storyline in 1980, where Laura and Luke took off to bring down the mob.

Shriner joined the cast of the NBC serial Texas, inspired, in part, by the success of nighttime soap Dallas, which had taken off in popularity. Shriner remained on the New York-based soap opera until 1981. His character, Jeb, left Texas, leaving Shriner free to rejoin the cast of GH.

Scotty, Dominique, Lucy, and Serena

Shriner returned to the show just in time to have Scotty catch the bouquet at Laura and Luke's wedding in November 1981, which drew in approximately 30 million viewers. Scotty returned to Port Charles with an edge, given how he'd lost Laura. It was through the love of a good woman, Dominique Taub (Shell Danielsen), who allowed Scotty to believe that he deserved to be loved.

Alas, Dominque died, but her and Scotty's love lived on in the form of their daughter Serena (played for years on Port Charles by Carly Schroeder), thanks to Lucy (Lynn Herring) carrying her to term.

Schroeder last appeared on GH in 2017. She reprised Serena to honor her late TV grandfather, Lee Baldwin, played by the late Peter Hansen. Trivia buffs recall that Hansen became GH's first Daytime Emmy-winner when he took home the statuette for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1979.

Upon her return, we may likely see Serena cross paths with her half-brother, Cody (Josh Kelly), whose father is Mac, played by John J. York.
