If something calamitous didn't happen at General Hospital's Metro Court pool, would it even be summer? Since 2021, when the pool first opened, the answer would be no. From Ned turning into Neddie and Curtis being shot to Kristina taking a multi-story plunge while nine months pregnant, that pool is a danger zone every single year. And nothing had happened so far this year, so we knew something had to be coming.
And something sure did. It turns out that 2026 leaves all those other calamities in the dust. This time, a dead body was found in the pool as Charlotte and Danny decided to take their last swim of the summer. Does this mean Carly will still open the pool for business as usual next year? Yep, probably. Because anything goes at the Metro Court pool.
Who Dunnit...Or Did He Just Fall?

Word on the street through much of August was that Jack Brennan would be murdered, but does slipping a man a sleeping pill so that he later falls in the pool constitute murder or just a very unfortunate consequence of a very dumb action? Maybe it could be manslaughter?
Or maybe something else happened. Why did Jack get off the elevator on the pool floor when the pool was closing for the season? And if someone really did push Jack in that pool, who was it? We have a theory.
Willow at the Metro Court? What?

Now, what the heck was that girl doing at the Metro Court when that girl is never at the Metro Court and practically never in public? She's either home (wherever home may be at the moment) or her congressional office. Occasionally, she makes it to Bobbie's for a milkshake. But out of nowhere, she goes from her little short shorts and tight tank around shirtless Chase to a silk dress and heels at the Metro Court bar, where she sidles up beside Britt and laments the one who got away. Sure, Jan. Stick a pin in this one.
Helena Cassadine and Luke Spencer's Granddaughter...

We love this child. We wouldn't want to be raising her, but on a soap, she's everything we could have asked for. Completely fearless, exquisitely clever, an expert liar, but in no way a genuinely bad person who wants people to suffer. Just like her father, but unlike her grandmother. Still, this girl without a doubt belongs to a Cassadine and a Spencer.
But she is also a teenager and teenagers like to do teenage things, so why not whip out that bikini she must keep in that back pocket and take a little dip in the pool. With a dead body. And they left him in the pool.
That's right, our Cassadine babies just left the body of a dead WSB agent in a hotel pool because they weren't going down for this one. They already saw what happened to Danny's dad when he took the fall for an agent's death. But yuck —Charlotte touched a dead body. (Still not sure how she managed to scream so loud underwater like that...TV magic?)
The Jury Is Out...

Oddly enough, this unexpected fall storyline is bringing together two very unlikely characters and we are not sure how we feel about this. Drew is not a good person. And Ava is not a great person, but she is a much better person than Drew (example: her moment of silence, albeit hilarious). And now they are partners in a crime they didn't mean to commit.
So, now they are in this together, but we don't like Drew and we like Ava, so there's a problem. Nothing can make Drew likable or sympathetic. Not two bullets in his back. Not paralytic drugs. And not a shove into the lake while in a wheelchair. But there is something fun about their scenes and that is the problem. There should never be a moment when Drew is anything other than ingratiatingly annoying, but then Ava gets thrown into the mix and everything gets thrown off course.
So, yes, the jury is still out on whether Ava can make Drew tolerable on a semi-regular basis. But please, oh please, do not have them fall into bed with one another. That's just sooooo beneath our Ava Jerome.
Addled Anna

In the midst of one fallen WSB agent dead in the pool and buried by the crypt, we have another fallen WSB agent in the form of our beloved Anna Devane. And Anna Devane should not be hallucinating her horrible dead nephew for us all to see because we were freed of him in 2022 and we never needed him back in our soap opera lives again.
But we think this story won't be dragged out much longer and are so relieved. Because this story began last October when Anna was kidnapped and it's now September, so whenever we can wrap this up will be good. Just send Anna to Shadybrooke for a few weeks and have her come out good as new and we can forget this Peter thing ever had to happen.
Driver's Ed

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled Cassadine-Spencer-Morgan-McCall teen delinquents. Danny's not a good driver, ya'll. Ya think we need to hear that anymore than we have already heard it? Remember when Danny and Charlotte were out on Route 91 in April and Carly and Valentin had to go rescue them, but Valentin ended up rescuing Jordan instead? And remember how Valentin mentioned how his daughter is an excellent liar? Yeah, that.
Oh yeah, remember the dent on the Q boat and the ding on Chase's car. And now Danny has to kayak out to Egret Island rather than take the motorboat? That's because Danny is a bad driver. And Jordan? She is a stupid driver who leaned over to kiss her equally stupid boyfriend and probably nearly killed two teenagers after a grandmother gave one of the teens permission to drive the other teen home. It wasn't Brook Lynn. No way.
The Last Swim of the Summer...

Danny and Charlotte weren't the only rebellious teens who had to get in one last swim of the summer. Rocco and Scout were supposed to be watching Outback, but they decided to take a dip in the lake instead. And then they decided to kiss (yes, we know they considered themselves brother and sister before Scout was SORAS'd). So, Outback is out there sniffing around by the crypt before the lake closes for the season...
Till next week, Scoopers, when we pray that Peter will be no more and someone can remind Jordan for the umpteenth time that she caused her own darn accident.
