What we know about General Hospital's Cassius Faison

It's finally official on General Hospital. Nathan West is not Nathan West at all, but instead, he is Cassius Faison and likely that fourth Faison kid that Britt had mentioned to Josslyn a few weeks back. It seemed clear from the start that there was more to this Nathan resurrection than met the eye and now we (kinda) know what it is.

General Hospital mystery (somewhat) solved

In 2018, both Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and the audience watched James Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) die after suffering a gunshot wound at the hands of his own father, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). We saw him buried and we even saw Georgie Jones (Lyndze Leatherman) return for a few brief moments to escort him to heaven. Maxie even witnessed that phenomenon, which told her that her husband was indeed gone.

When he turned up at General Hospital seven years later with no memory of where he had been and no real emotion after learning that Maxie was in a coma, we knew something was up. And so did Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). Remember when she saw him in his GH room the first time and gave him a tepid hug? That was a massive clue that she knew what was really going on.

For the last seven months, this man who has been calling himself Nathan has not seemed very interested in knowing much about his past. He just picked up where he left off at the PCPD and moved on, but there have been clues about his real identity along the way.

So, what do we know about this man whom Sidwell (Carlo Rota) just referred to as Cassius Faison? First, he doesn't know everything about police procedure, or he wouldn't have broken evidence protocol on that case Dante mentioned a while back.

We also know that Cassius had to have been raised by Faison, as he told Lulu (Alexa Havins) that his father made him memorize the periodic table of the elements. That seemed odd to Lulu, as Nathan's adoptive dad was a businessman. But we thought he might be Peter August (Wes Ramsey), who was also raised by Faison, but who we hope is really, most sincerely dead.

The real Nathan also never would have snapped at his mother the way Cassius did a few weeks ago when Liesl (Kathleen Gati) was giving him a hard time about Lulu. We also know that the real Nathan would never have fallen for Lulu, especially while Maxie was in a coma.

How does Britt know Cassius?

When Britt mentioned the fourth kid, some fans thought it was an oversight on the writers' part, and the script should have said three kids. But we now know that Britt's line was right on the money. So, how does Britt know about Cassius and is he the "C" that left the meds on Britt's bed?

It seems logical that she would have learned about him during her two years playing dead while working on "Faison's Final Project?" Perhaps Liesl gave birth to twins, but didn't know it or was told one baby had died. She gave Nathan to her sister to keep him away from Faison, but what if Faison took the other baby and raised him, forcing him to learn the periodic table along the way?

When Britt came to after being resurrected, she might have heard the entire story for the first time and even met her other brother. That would explain why she looked at him so weirdly and hugged him with such hesitation last fall.

Clearly, there is more to this story than meets the eye and we can't wait to find out what it is.
