General Hospital's Ric Lansing thinks things are finally going right in his life. After a summer chained to a gurney with a ball gag in his mouth in Alexis' basement, Ric decided to make some changes in his life and those changes seem to have made all of his dreams come true. He is now Sonny's right-hand man and the one who got away is his again. But what if Ric and Elizabeth really aren't the ones who are meant to be?
Elizabeth predicts smooth sailing on General Hospital

Whenever things get too good for a soap couple or soap characters, you know the other shoe is about to drop. On May 27th, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) told Ric (Rick Hearst) that she had a good feeling about them this time around. Maybe things would actually work out for them. Minutes later, Ric started to feel that other shoe when Elizabeth casually started talking about how bad she felt for Dante (Dominic Zamprogna).
The look on Ric's face said it all. He was worried. Why would Elizabeth care so much about Dante? Does this mean he has competition on his hands? While Elizabeth has not given Dante a second thought as anything more than a friend, the same can't be said about Dante. We have all seen him looking at Liz a certain way and even warned her to stay away from Ric.
GH has been hinting toward a possible Elizabeth and Dante pairing, but where would that leave poor Ric? All he has ever wanted is to be with Elizabeth. Well, Elizabeth and the mother of his child, but he hasn't thought of her that way in years. Can things change?
Rexis possibilities...

While Rick Hearst relishes working with both Rebecca Herbst and Nancy Lee Grahn, Ric can't end up with both Elizabeth and Alexis. And if this latest try with Liz doesn't work out, Hearst sees where endgame may be.
"I would welcome revisiting [Alexis]," Hearst told Soap Opera Digest. "They’re two very smart characters — too smart for their own good! But maybe these two smart characters would have no choice but to realize that they are meant for each other, and that’s why they created such a beautiful, empathetic daughter in Molly. Who knows!"
Who knows is right? Ric and Alexis still snipe at one another with faux hate in their hearts, but a recent scene in which Ric worried about his renewed relationship with Sonny hinted at something more. Alexis proved that she knows Ric and his fears better than anyone. In the end, maybe that is the person one ends up with. The one who can see a person for who they really are.
