American Olympian Breezy Johnson got engaged to partner Connor Watkins. On February 12, Johnson shared a carousel in which Watkins could be seen bending down on one knee. The post was captioned:

“Hey guys... meet Connor! My ex boyfriend! And current fiancé!!! Thank you to everyone who made this moment possible. It was everything I ever dreamed of. Kind of like Connor!”

Taylor Swift also reacted to the engagement. The singer commented:

““Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me” CONGRATULATIONS!!!”

Breezy Johnson also replied to Taylor Swift, writing:

“@taylorswift I don't know what's better Olympic gold or this comment. Sourdough engagement gift please???? would love to teach you to ski.”

The ski racer came out as bisexual in 2022. In a lengthy Instagram post dated November 7, 2022, Breezy Johnson wrote:

“So I'm bisexual. Before this season starts I wanted to be open about who I am. To those [pride flag] people out there who feel a little different and want to see people like them at the top I am here to represent that we are out there, we are normal, and we can do whatever we want. To the trolls who want to hate, hate doesn't beat love. To those who have no idea what I'm saying, head over to Google if ya want to know.”

According to E! Online, the proposal took place at the 2026 Milano Cortina Games.

What did Breezy Johnson say about her father’s accident?

Breezy Johnson won a gold medal at the Cortina Games. During an interview with Seth Doane on CBS News, she said that her medal was taken back because it broke. She got a replacement medal. Johnson said that since the medal was so heavy, the ribbons couldn’t hold its weight. Doane mentioned that the ski racer dedicated the win to her father. She said:

“Yeah, I mean, my dad's been through a lot recently. He couldn't come to the games. It was really hard the past few weeks. My birthday was January 19th, which was the day that they were selecting the team. My mom called me that he'd been in an accident and he broke his leg. He has a knee replacement and they had to replace the knee replacement and he found out that he can never ski again.”

Breezy Johnson said her father was the one who taught her how to ski, and his accident made her feel emotional. She thought about how hard it would be if someone told her she could never ski again. She felt sad for him and decided the best way to respond was to ski as fast as she could.

When asked if she thought about him on the day of her game, Johnson said she did and wanted to do justice to him. Her father was “heartbroken” that he could not attend the game. Breezy Johnson said her father was the biggest “Olympic nerd” in the family.
