What did Ben Bankas say about Renee Good? Comedian's sold-out Minnesota shows canceled after alleged mockery of her death

Comedian Ben Bankas made jokes about the death of Renee Good, who was shot by an ICE agent on January 7. As per The Associated Press, Good's husband mentioned that she had just dropped off her 6-year old at school when she encountered the ICE agents. She was shot thrice, in her forearm, breast, and head, leading to her death.

Following her death, Bankas posted videos to his Instagram from his recent comedy sets. In the videos, Bankas poked fun at Good,

"Her last name was Good. That's what I said after they shot her in the face."

In another clip, Bankas joked that marijuana could have saved her life,

"If she just took a bong toke before that excursion (she would have said), "I don't know if we should go."

Ben Bankas' comedy shows canceled after comments on Renee Good go viral

After Ben Bankas' Instagram videos, in which he could be seen poking fun at Renee Good's death in his comedy shows, went viral, Laugh Camp Comedy Club in its "Twin City" of St. Paul, Minneasota has canceled six sold-out comedy shows.

Owner of the comedy club, Bill Collins, while speaking to the Minnesota Star Tribune, mentioned that he decided to call out the show after seeing the footage of Bankas' other performances,

"Honestly, I don't see any way we can safely present this show in the current climate. I'm not sure any amount of security or preplanning would mitigate the liability I'd face if something happened."

Bankas mentioned that while his decision would cost him upwards of $17,000 but, he considered it was worth it.

"The risks to our community, staff and guests are too great."

On January 29, Bankas shared a video of himself from a show where he tells the crowd that his Minnesota shows have been cancelled. Bankas said "f**k them" about the decision,

"I just found out that my shows were cancelled in Minnesota. Yeah they were supposed to be next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We sold out six shows in Minnesota. And they canceled it because honestly I don't know why"

Ben Bankas added that the shows were cancelled since the Comedy Club got a "weird voicemail from a liberal." Bankas then went on to mock and pant to imitate the alleged call. Ben Bankas joked that he was "ready to spend a lot of my own money" and "make a lot less money" so that he could hire armed security. Bankas also mentioned that it is "cathartic" to laugh at some "f**ked up s**t."
