Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is the former Duke of York and a member of the English Royal Family. His reputation has been called into question due to his long‑standing association with Jeffrey Epstein and the alleged criminal acts he partook in with Epstein and his co-conspirators.

In the latest news about Prince Andrew, he was arrested on the morning of February 19 at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The property is a country retreat for the Royal Family and traditionally where they gather at Christmas. As per the BBC, he was eventually released after several hours of questioning and became the first member of the British royal family to be arrested since the English Civil War.

Shortly after the news began circulating online, American blogger and media personality Perez Hilton took to his blog to share his thoughts.

“This is getting serious, y’all! And it’s about time it did. We’ve been following all the Epstein file releases, and with each new drop, there’s just more and more damning stuff against both Andrew and Fergie. It’s stomach-churning to see some of these emails and photos exchanged between them and their old convicted sex trafficker pal.”

Prince Andrew’s fate is currently unclear, as evidence of his alleged misdeeds continues to mount.

Prince Andrew Arrest - King Charles’ statement, more

In response to Prince Andrew’s arrest, the Royal Family seems to be in full damage control. King Charles released the following statement in the wake of the Prince’s arrest.

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.”

The statement continues,

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all. Charles R.”

While speaking to the BBC at the India AI Impact Summit in Delhi, Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy also commented on Prince Andrew’s arrest.

"As justice secretary - and as the prime minister has said - nobody in this country is above the law. And this is now a police investigation and that must happen in the usual way."

It remains to be seen how the case unfolds for Prince Andrew, although his future looks very much in jeopardy.
