Social media users all over the United States have reported several different issues with TikTok. Some concerns raised mentioned the app not loading, users not being able to log in, and an outage.

Internet users have lodged complaints on Downdetector and Reddit about experiencing glitches and inconsistent performance. According to Downdetector data, more than 36,000 users around the country reported issues during the outage. Out of this, around 64% of the complaints had issues in the apps, and 23% of users said the service was completely down for them. While 13% have problems with the feed.

The same data map shared that major cities such as Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, Tampa, Washington, and Chicago were the most affected. Social media had mixed reactions to the outage; while some people were genuinely frustrated, others made light of the situation by making memes and jokes.

One user commented,

"tiktok is literally no longer working. it won’t even give me what i’m searching up"

Another said,

"First i noticed lives weren’t popping up, then I couldn’t see comments, I checked my WiFi to make sure it was working. Then I noticed my algorithm was all off. I googled if tik tok was down and nothing. So I came on here and sure enough it is down! 😭"

One person questioned,

"Anyone else’s TikTok down ??? Can’t comment or see comments, profiles aren’t loading, can’t view saved or liked videos, and my ENTIRE FYP is different ? Quality on videos is ASS too ? Plus so many more problems rn wtf is happening"

While one user complained,

"It’s 4:13am and TikTok is down… During a winter storm. Wrong TIMING FR"

The reason for the issues is still unclear, as the platform has not released an official statement yet.
