American political commentator and author Candace Owens thinks trends on X are "laughably inorganic." On January 28, Owens shared a tweet on X criticizing trends on the Elon Musk owned social media platform.

"X trends are laughably inorganic now. It's basically a teenaged Zionist burn book. We're basically one week away from "Candace Owens is so FUGLY and dumb and stupid and I hate so, so much" masquerading as a trend."

Owens acknowledged the psychological tactic of forcing trends to try and control public opinion and said,

"This psy-op of forced social media trends to try to convince the general public that it represents majority opinion has completely failed so please just stop doing it. Please just show us what is actually trending."

Candace Owens' theories on Elon Musk

Candace Owens' criticism of X and trends on the social media platform comes after she claimed that Elon Musk and Sam Altman are not humans. In October 2025, a video of Candace Owens' bizarre claims went viral on the internet, where she said,

"I'm telling you, I don't even think people are human. Like, I look at Elon Musk and Sam Altman and Peter Thiel, and I'm pretty sure they're hybrid. You know what I mean? Like, they just look like an Apple software that I should be able to download at night, you know? Like, my phone's getting an update or something."

Owens mentioned that it is "something in the eyes" of the tech giants that she finds inhuman. She also accused Musk and Altman of using science to "indoctrinate" people." Candace added that these people are:

"Using science and this idea of technology and this idea of transforming society for the better to indoctrinate us into accepting this. And it's wrong and it's backwards. And the main componet of all this is psychology, right? They're able to do it because of psychology, making you think that society has gotten better."

Owens theorized that people are forced to accept Musk as a genius because all the influential people are "obviously indoctrinated" and influencing others into believing in Musk. She went on to compare the tech figures with "demons" and theorized that they are turning people against faith and god. Candace Owens also held the tech figures responsible for growing atheism.

Candace has often shared her opinions on the psychology of social media and its influence on people. While some users find her conspiracy theories interesting, others have disregarded them.
