According to media outlet BuzzingPop, singer-turned-actress, Selena Gomez, who tied the knot with record producer Benny Blanco in 2025, through her premium cosmetic brand Rare Beauty, provides mental health resources free of cost to immigrants who are affected by the recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) crackdowns throughout the United States. Founded by Gomez on February 22, 2019, Rare Beauty was launched in September 2020.
As per TVInsider, the 33-year-old Selena Gomez, who was previously vocal and raised her voice against the January 2025 ICE raids, took to Instagram and shared a video in which she was seen crying over the ICE crackdowns. In the Instagram video, at the time, Gomez said:
"All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don't understand. I'm so sorry, I wish I could do something, but I can't. I don't know what to do. I'll try everything, I promise."
At the time, the Good For You hitmaker, Selena Gomez, received mixed reactions, with many mocking and criticizing her emotional response. Following her Instagram video, which recently resurfaced, Texas Representative Monica De La Cruz mocked her video and wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
"@SelenaGomez's crocodile tears aren't for deportations - it's a PR stunt to distract @TheAcademy from Hispanics HATING her movie."
The Spring Breakers star, Selena Gomez, deleted the Instagram video, eventually sharing a message regarding it that read:
"Apparently it's not ok to show empathy for people."
As Selena's January 2025 Instagram video resurfaced amid the recent ICE crackdowns in Minneapolis, where two American individuals, Alex Pretti and Nicole Good, were shot to death, the video gained public attention again, with people supporting her this time.
