Andrew Garfield is a certified A-list actor who has seen success across several genres and roles. He has also been the subject of tabloid news and social media chatter due to his dating history, having been romantically linked to several high-profile female celebrities.

In the latest news about the Hacksaw Ridge star, Andrew Garfield recently sat for an interview with Hits Radio, where he shared his views on the Harry Potter universe after HBO recently released the first teaser for its inaugural television spinoff.

Despite firmly disagreeing with J.K. Rowlingβ€˜s harsh, anti-trans views, Garfield claimed there was still space to support the spirit of the franchise. In the episode that was released on March 26, the former Spider-Man star shared the following:

β€œDaniel is so goddamn good. And honestly, I hadn’t watched [the Harry Potter films] until recently. He’s really good in those Harry Potter movies. Those Harry Potter movies are really good. I really liked them.”

He added:

β€œI know we shouldn’t be putting money in the pocket of inhumane legislation right now through She Who Shall Remain Nameless, but the soul and spirit of those films … the kids are so good … and all the artisans β€” I’m working with a wonderful makeup artist right now, Clare [Le Vesconte] who was working in the creature workshop [on the films]. And I’m like, oh man, we can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater, there are so many beautiful artists who worked on those films.”

Andrew Garfield certainly presents a nuanced take on how to assess the Harry Potter franchise, ultimately bringing the question back to whether one can separate the art from the artist.

Andrew Garfield on The Social Network, more

Elsewhere in his interview with Hits Radio, Andrew Garfield went into detail about some of his truly standout performances up until this point in his career. When the topic of his role as Eduardo Saverin in 2010's The Social Network came up, Garfield had the following to say:

β€œI really love that film. I really am happy that the timing worked out, that im of the right age, generation where David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin were making that film and me and Jesse were in the right age range. Just very, very fortunate.”

He added:

β€œI really enjoy watching the scenes im not in obviously. And I love watching Jesse work. I love watching Jesse in his deposition with the Winklevoss twins and his kind of acerbic, cutting…Yeah, I would watch those scenes in awe.”

Andrew Garfield would continue to heap praise on his co-star Jesse Eisenberg before the topic of conversation ultimately switched to other of his accredited roles.
