Zayn Malik enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame as a member of the English boy band One Direction. He has also enjoyed an extremely successful solo career, having released 4 albums that all received acclaim from his audience and critics alike.

In the most recent news about the “Pillowtalk” singer, Zayn Malik, appeared to take a subtle jab at the ticket prices for former bandmate Harry Styles’ upcoming arena tour while on stage as part of a seven-night residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

In a video from the concert that circulated online, Zayn first addressed the crowd and expressed his gratitude for their attendance.

“Who’s from Vegas? Who’s from elsewhere? I just want to say a big, big thank you to each and every single one of you for being here with me tonight. You could’ve been anywhere, [but] you decided to spend your night with me.”

Interestingly, he followed that up with the following quip,

“Hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high – just saying!”

Once the clip circulated online, social media users were quick to share their perspective on the apparent slight. One X user pointed out,

"They were even higher than Harry's lmao"

Another X user added,

“He knows exactly what he’s doing with that line haha”

Some were not amused by Zayn’s antics, with one X user stating,

“being shady towards harry while being a flop solo artist himself is crazy. i don’t even like harry but come on…”

Another X user claimed Zayn was scrambling for mentions,

“notice how popbase never posts about zayn or his music unless they want to start drama we know what you are”

Some of the feedback was decidedly more positive, however, with one X user stating,

“That’s such a humble and sweet moment from Zayn.
Grateful, honest, and still looking out for his fans—pure class.”

Zayn Malik teases post-residency tour

Interestingly, Zayn Malik seems to have a lot in store for his fans in the coming year. After the news of his week-long Las Vegas residency was announced, he also took to social media to suggest it was part of a larger announcement that was on the way.

A link from his Instagram Stories directed his followers to a website featuring what seems to be the announcement of his first-ever solo tour. The graphic features his name at the top, followed by the year, and then a list of locations including the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico, and South America. The cities within those regions were listed but then blacked out, enshrouding Zayn Malik's teaser post in mystery.
