A video of two crows pecking at an animatronic Rapunzel during a live event at Tokyo DisneySea went viral. The unexpected incident rapidly gained attention on the internet, where many netizens reacted to the bizarre collision between fantasy and reality in a hilarious way.

The incident took place in the Springs area at Tokyo DisneySea, where Rapunzel’s character appears as part of the Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival attraction. In the viral clip, the animatronic figure can be seen leaning out of a tower window, moving and performing as usual.

But there were two crows perched on the structure, one directly on Rapunzel’s head and the other on the windowsill. While the figure carried on with its routine, the birds started picking at her blonde hair, yanking out strands.

Although an official explanation has not been provided, reports indicate that the birds were probably gathering materials for their nests. In order to construct their nests, crows are known to gather soft things like fibers, linen, and even hair. The animatronic may have been an easy target for the birds because of its realistic-looking, textured hair.

Internet reacts to the viral moment at Tokyo DisneySea

As the video spread online, users flooded social media with humorous takes on the situation. A user commented:

“This is what happens when u fire the evil queen.”

A user leaned into the absurdity of the situation:

"Birds just got a taste for fairytale extensions guess dreams are edible now."

Another user kept it simple, pointing out how nature completely ignored the setting:

"Crows don't care..."

While another user joked that there won’t be any more hair left for Flynn Rider to cut in order to save her:

"There won’t be any hair left for the rider to cut."

A user highlighted the irony between high-budget design and nature’s interference:

"Disney invested a substantial amount of money in creating the world's most advanced Rapunzel animatronic; however, two crows humorously decided otherwise, opting for free extensions."

Another user joined in:

"Disney Imagineers really spent years perfecting that hair, only for the local crows to move in and turn it into premium real estate."

A user pointed out the practical reason behind the crows' behavior:

"Can't really blame them...It does look a bit like nest."

A user joked about the birds as performers themselves:

"Those crows auditioning for the live action remake."

Another joked about the aftermath for the character:

"Poor Rapunzel is going to be bald, lmao."

One user framed the moment as an oddly poetic outcome:

"Nature is healing, or maybe it’s just building the most expensive designer bird nests in the history of Japan."

Following the video clip, a picture went viral that seemed to show Rapunzel’s figure missing and the tower window empty at Tokyo DisneySea. Although there has been no official confirmation, this led to speculation that the animatronic might have been temporarily removed.

As of now, no official statements have been released by at Tokyo DisneySea regarding the incident or the repair of the animatronic.
