On February 17, civil rights leader Jesse Jackson passed away at 84. The family of the veteran activist and political figure issued a statement on his passing. The cause of death of Jesse Jackson remains undisclosed as of this writing.Following his death, former President Barack Obama paid tribute to Jesse. He shared the statement on behalf of his wife, Michelle. In his condolences, Barack Obama wrote:“Michelle and I were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of a true giant, the Reverend Jesse Jackson. We will always be grateful for Jesse's lifetime of service, and the friendship our families share. We stood on his shoulders. We send our deepest condolences to the Jackson family and everyone in Chicago and beyond who knew and loved him.”In his official statement, Barack Obama highlighted the role of Jesse Jackson in some of his significant moments. He also stated Jesse advocated freedom and democracy worldwide.“For more than 60 years, Reverend Jackson helped lead some of the most significant movements for change in human history. He also acknowledged his daughter, Ashley Jackson, later on.As of this writing, Jackson's cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Earlier, in November last year, Jesse was hospitalized, and he was reportedly diagnosed with a degenerative condition called progressive supranuclear palsy.In addition to Barack Obama, President Donald Trump also paid tribute to Jesse.
