A Secret Service agent assigned to the former First Lady of the US, Jill Biden, accidentally shot himself on March 27. This happened while he was outside the Philadelphia International Airport. At the time of the incident, Biden was not in the vicinity. As per an official, the agent suffered a non-life-threatening injury, and the incident happened mainly due to negligence.The agent was treated at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. According to an official statement:“On Friday morning just after 8.30 an on-duty US Secret Service Special Agent suffered a non-life-threatening injury following a negligent discharge while handling a service weapon at the Philadelphia International Airport during a protective assignment. There was no impact to the protectee's movement and they were not present at the time of the incident.”The statement also mentioned:“The Secret Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility will be reviewing the facts and circumstances of this incident.”Jill Biden on Trump, teaching, and losing son BeauIn 2020, Jill Biden sat down with CBS's Sunday Morning. The interviewer mentioned that President Trump had used many names to refer to Joe Biden. She asked the former First Lady would do the same. However, she replied:“I am not going to call Donald Trump names because then I'm doing the exact same negative thing that he does to other people and I won't stoop to that.”Remembering the time her grandmother saw Joe Biden, Jill Biden said:“My grandmother when she saw Joe, she was so excited. I can picture her in her house coat and her black lace-up shoes. She said, ‘I am so excited to meet you.’ Because she was a staunch democrat.”Jill Biden said that at the time, Joe was a widower. She initially fell in love with his two sons, Hunter and Beau. When she was expecting, she told her stepsons that they could name the baby, and they decided on Ashley. Jill was a teacher at a community college. She said:“I teach a lot of immigrants and refugees. I love their stories. I love who they are as people and I love the fact that I can help them on their path to success.”In 2015, Beau lost his life following a battle with cancer. At the time, Joe told the media outlet that he almost wished Jill had not been there because it was hard for him to see her in so much pain. He also said he felt very lucky to have her, along with his son Hunter and daughter Ashley, because they gave him a lot of support during that difficult time. Jill Biden said:“You can't lose a child and be who…you are changed forever. You're not the person you were before your child's death so yeah you are broken.”During the Presidential campaign, there were allegations that the family faced. Jill Biden said that they were capable of handling anything as they faced the worst with Beau’s death.
