Earlier this month, Jaden Ivey called out the NBA for promoting Pride Month. Ivy had gone live on his Instagram account several times in the past week, after he was shut down for the rest of the season due to an injury. During a March 10th Instagram live session, Jaden had said:

"The world proclaims LGBTQ, right? They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA does, too. They show it to the world. They say, 'Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.' They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it on the streets. Unrighteousness. So how is it that one can speak, how are they to say that, man this man is crazy."

After Ivey's videos went viral, the Chicago Bulls waived him, citing

"conduct detrimental to the team."

Chicago Bulls coach, Billy Donovan, offered an explanation on the release during a press conference:

“I think there’s a certain level of standards and expectations that are here. I mean, we have people from all different walks of life working in the building and players from all different walks of life, right? So, the first thing is, everybody comes with their own personal experiences. But one is, we’ve got to all be professional."

"What did I do to the team?" - Jaden Ivey questions the Chicago Bulls

In another live stream on the evening of March 30, after he was waived off, Jaden Ivey questioned the Chicago Bulls' explanation for taking him off the team.

"(The Bulls] said my conduct is detrimental to the team," he said. "Why didn't they just say, 'We don't agree with his stance on LGBTQ'? Why didn't they say that? ... How is it conduct detrimental to the team? What did I do to the team? What did I do to the players?"

Jaden Ivey continued to talk about religion, claiming that the NBA lied:

“They’re liars, bro. This is lying. They’re lying saying my conduct is detrimental to the team. That’s a lie. Ask any one of them coaches in there, ‘Was I a good teammate?’ All I’m preaching about is Jesus Christ and they waived me. They say I’m crazy, right? I’m psycho.”

Jaden Ivey claimed that he didn't get himself waived, and that he was going to the gym, and "rehabbing."

The Bulls had just acquired Ivey from the Detroit Pistons before the trade deadline last month. Before the All-Star Break, Ivey appeared in four games for the Bulls, most recently in February.
