American basketball shooting guard Jaden Ivey was recently released by the Chicago Bulls on March 30. He had made anti-LGBTQ+ comments during a social media rant recently. He even criticised the NBA Pride nights as “unrighteousness.” Meanwhile, he went on a live while on a flight, where he took digs at Steph Curry’s Christian beliefs. Jaden Ivey said:

“That’s why you got Steph Curry and he not even surrendered. And y’all believe he’s a Christian. Y’all believe he’s a Christian because he wrote Phil 4:13. Y’all think he’s a Christian but he cursing just like the world.”

He also made comments about being released from the Chicago Bulls, as seen in a video posted on his Instagram. While praising Jesus, Jaden Ivey said:

“The Bible is true, right? And may you be glorified, Jesus? They said my conduct is detrimental to the team, right? Why didn’t they just say, ‘We don’t agree with his stance on LGBTQ?’ Why didn’t they say that? But how is it conduct detrimental to the team? What did I do to the team? What did I do to the players?”

Ivey said that he did nothing with the players and had been consistent with the practice. He added that he had been a good teammate to the other players. Jaden Ivey mentioned that he even praised them from time to time. According to him, his words had never been detrimental to the teammates. He asked:

“So, why is it that the NBA and the Chicago Bulls say that I am detrimental to the team?”

What did Jaden Ivey say about Jesus Christ?

In his rant, Jaden Ivey questioned the Chicago Bulls’ statement, saying that it was because of his beliefs and the way he understood Jesus’ truth. He also mentioned people “hate” Jesus Christ, and they don’t want to hear his words. He claimed:

“They hated Jesus. They stopped him. They stopped the son of God. They don’t want to hear the word. They killed Jesus. They beheaded John the Baptist. This is not about me. This is about the kingdom of God. This is about the truth of the Bible. Because I spoke what the truth is. Cause I called these things out. Because that’s what it is.”

He even said that these won’t be “shut down,” as God has servants willing to preach the gospel. Jaden Ivey mentioned that the servants have continued doing so. He also claimed that God’s word will be preached to all nations, following which the end will come. According to him, the word of God is true, and all he said was also true. He said:

“If you repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ, you will be saved. And you, unless you become born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God. So, the word is true. These things are happening. This is not the truth. My conduct is not detrimental to the team.”

Jaden Ivey said this was a lie and repeatedly asked how his conduct was detrimental to the team. He claimed he had nothing to prove as he received the gifts of God for his sport. Because of that, he said he would still be able to play.
