Political commentator Candace Owens is seemingly setting the record straight about taking financial help from Scientologist John Mappin. As seen in Mappin’s X, he spoke to a user named Bren (@bren45000), saying that Charlie Kirk loved Scientology and applied it. He wanted Bren to keep their “religious bigotry” to themself. Investigative journalist Laura Loomer posted a screengrab of Mappin's words on X on February 13 and wrote:

“This is so bizarre. @JohnMappin, who is a Scientologist and one of @RealCandaceO Candace Owens’s biggest backers, is now telling people that Charlie Kirk “loved and applied Scientology.” This is a total lie. @TPUSA.”

Owens reshared Loomer’s X post and clarified:

“1) No matter how many times you Zionists lie, you cannot reshape reality. I never took any money from John Mappin.”

Candace Owens said that if people were concerned about Turning Point’s connection to Scientology, they should look into who was contacted after Charlie was shot. She claimed that someone from the group had reached out to Mappin. She also suggested that people should ask the new CEO their questions.

John Mappin is also the owner of the Camelot castle. In 2016, he awarded Trump a “knighthood” recognition. Mappin also replied to Laura Loomer and said that whatever he told Bren was not a lie. He clarified:

“Charlie found great use for some of the principles of Scientology and applied them with great effect. In particular the Third Party Law. Which you yourself might find of considerable use. It is useful in resolving conflicts.”

John Mappin remembers Charlie Kirk in an old interview

In a piece published by The Telegraph on September 17, 2025, John Mappin said that Charlie Kirk had two people who were always with him, and they were reliable. Mappin was also a benefactor of Turning Point UK. He remembered that Kirk started having security guards with him much later because he was not scared. Mappin claimed:

“We discussed it, and here’s the thing, he wasn’t fearful. He wasn’t afraid of dying at all. I’ve been thinking about that a lot since last Wednesday, and I am sure that’s a quality people who are aware of their own eternal nature have. For Charlie, his Christian faith gave him that.”

When he saw the video from the day when Kirk was assassinated, John Mappin initially felt that Charlie would have survived. However, as subsequent videos reached him, he lost hope. He also mentioned that Erika Kirk’s grief at losing her husband must have been unimaginable. Meanwhile, speaking about Trump, he said:

“Because I always saw Trump as a great peacemaker. And I felt we needed someone who was going to take America by the reins.”

John Mappin recalled the time he reached out to Charlie Kirk and said that he needed to replicate Turning Point USA in the UK. He said many were concerned about the education system and the British culture.
