The Disney+ series Wonder Man, produced by Marvel Studios, came to an end on January 27, 2026. The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Both of these actors are attempting to succeed in Hollywood, and each one of them has been faced with very significant personal issues.

There is a very emotionally engaging finale to season 1, which ends with Simon using his powers to free Trevor from a government-run prison, and they fly away together. There is a lot of excitement regarding how season one's storyline ends, but there are also many unresolved storylines that still need to be answered, thus creating a need for speculation about various aspects of the Wonder Man storyline for fans following the conclusion of season 1.

Here are the three biggest questions that Wonder Man did not answer clearly at the end.

How did Simon gain his powers, and what will happen next in Wonder Man?

Wonder Man doesn't provide an explanation for Simon's power origin. Any character with an extraordinary ability can be explained within a television series. However, no explanation was given in Wonder Man. Throughout the episodes of Wonder Man, Simon has demonstrated his ability to use telekinesis, which means Simon has the ability to manipulate objects utilizing his thoughts as well as control the energy around him.

Unfortunately, no explanation is given to show where Simon's powers originated from and why Simon has these particular powers; there are some hints about Simon's troubled past, but nothing definitive is explained. According to the executive producer of Wonder Man, the method of presentation used was a conscious decision to keep the storyline focused on how Simon feels about himself and how he will grow throughout the series.

Consequently, many fans of the Marvel series have been left to speculate if Simon obtained his powers from something extraordinary, such as genetics, mysticism, or technology. Furthermore, it was not indicated whether Simon's powers will be detailed in future Marvel shows or movies. Since the powers exhibited by Simon were primary to the series, many Marvel fans have suggested that the reason they weren't defined was to leave the audience hanging; however, many viewers felt that this was an incomplete part of a Marvel character.

Simon and Trevor also walk into a future that is not clear. Simon showed his powers in public to rescue Trevor. This means people now know Simon has superpowers and that he is not just an actor. He might not be able to work in Hollywood again because insurance companies could see him as a danger.

Will Simon become a full-time superhero? Will he ever find a way to work in movies again? Wonder Man does not say. These questions are left for viewers to imagine.

Why was there no post‑credits scene or MCU tie‑in?

Like other Marvel projects, Wonder Man has no additional scenes following the credits. This is uncommon for a Marvel project, since typically, Marvel's approach includes teasers for future storylines or characters via short scenes following the end credits of the series or film. However, Wonder Man's creators determined that the series was intended to function as a stand-alone story and therefore would not contain such a teaser.

Simon and Trevor may both make future appearances in other Marvel projects; however, there are no significant appearances of either character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe or other current Marvel comic book characters in the series. While Simon has a long history as one of several members of the Avengers and other superhero teams, the lack of any connections to either character's past or present work within the MCU leaves fans with uncertainties about whether Simon, Trevor, or related characters will have any connections to subsequent MCU films, TV series or comic books.

Some news reports say Marvel might consider a second season or more projects with these characters. But nothing has been officially announced yet. So another unanswered question is why Marvel chose to make this story stand alone and not tie it more clearly into the rest of the MCU.

What happened to story threads that were started but not finished?

There are some smaller story threads in Wonder Man that were never answered at the end. One example is the subplot about news reporter Kathy Friedman. In one episode, she interviews people close to Simon and seems ready to write a big article about his life. But by the finale, her story disappears, and we never learn what happened to her report or how it affects Simon's life.

This plot line raises questions about whether the world outside the story will know more about Simon's powers and mistakes. Fans expected to see this part carried forward, but it simply drops off. This creates another unanswered point that many viewers notice after the series ends.

There are also questions about roles that were introduced but not resolved, like the brief appearances by other characters and story lines about the Department of Damage Control tracking superpowered people. The finale focuses on Simon and Trevor, but leaves these threads open.

In the end, Wonder Man gave fans a new kind of Marvel story that focused on friendship, identity and personal growth. But it also left many details unfinished. How Simon got his powers, why there was no post‑credits tease, and what happened to some side plots are all left open. These unanswered questions are part of what keeps people talking about the show even after it has finished streaming.
