5 tv shows of Demond Wilson to watch as the legendary actor passes away

Demond Wilson, best known for his role as Lamont Sanford on the television show Sanford and Son, has died at the age of 79. The cause of death was cancer, and Wilson passed away in his home in Palm Springs, California. His family confirmed his death to outlets, including Parade and Men's Journal. He died surrounded by family and friends.

Although for most people, they would seek out Demond Wilson's performances during other times from the other shows he starred on, because of the success of Sanford and Son, many people would primarily remember him for his unique timing and stage presence in front of another huge television, movie and stand-up comedy star, Redd Foxx.

2. Baby… I'm Back!

Demond Wilson starred in a new comedy series called Baby...I'm Back! after Sanford and Son ended. This CBS series debuted in early 1978. The character which Wilson portrays is named Raymond Ellis, who is attempting to get his life together after being separated from his family for several years.

With only 13 episodes, Baby…I'm Back! provided viewers with a new perspective on Wilson as an actor. Rather than just being the reasonable son, Wilson also portrays a man trying to restore a relationship with his family. Although it was a brief run on television, Baby…I'm Back! enabled a large number of fans to see Wilson in a lead role.

Each episode contains realistic situations that the character meets, as well as the manner in which he handles those situations with humour and thoughtfulness.

3. The New Odd Couple

Demond Wilson took on another role in a sitcom called The New Odd Couple. This show was a remake of the classic The Odd Couple, but with some updates. Wilson starred as Oscar Madison, a messy and fun character, opposite Ron Glass as the neat and serious Felix Unger.
