The season 1 finale of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder answered questions but left a trail of mysteries that fans cannot stop thinking about. Becca Bell was taken into custody. Elliot Ward was arrested. Pip made it out alive. But surviving is not the same as having found closure, and Little Kilton still has a mound of unresolved problems that Season 2 must unearth.

Season 2 has now been officially confirmed for 2026, adapting Holly Jackson's second novel, Good Girl, Bad Blood. Production was completed early, and it went ahead with Max Hastings in the dock. When testimonies get lost in the wind with star witness Jamie Reynolds, Pip finds herself thrown back into detective mode regardless of her desire to leave the case behind.

The new season takes on a more sinister tone, but before that, these are the five biggest questions the finale posed.

Will Max Hastings actually face justice?

The most frustrating loose thread from A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 1 is Max Hastings. He drugged and s*xually assaulted Becca Bell. He conspired to hide the truth of Sal's alibi. He walks freely through the finale, unworried, and still breathing clean air.

It was Pip who confronted him in the final scenes. She held his eyes and told him that she was not finished. All the people he had ever harmed would get justice. It was one of the most memorable episodes in the whole season. But a promise is not a conviction. His trial forms the backbone of the second season's narrative.

Jamie Reynolds is a major prosecution witness. If he goes missing, the entire prosecution is endangered. The issue becomes not merely the punishment of Max, but whether the system can punish him at all, and what Pip will do if it can't.

What actually happened to Becca Bell after her arrest?

Becca was caught in the woods, in the middle of trying to get rid of Pip as she got rid of Andie. Ravi and Cara walked up just in time, and the police were called. However, it was never explicitly seen on the show that she was being handcuffed or taken away.

That ambiguity is more disturbing than it might seem. Becca has already murdered once, threatened Pip many times, and put a bullet through her dog Barney. She is not a background character. She is someone with a motive, who is feeling desperate, with a history of taking extreme measures.

In A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 2, the show needs to tell us what happened to her. Is she being held? Was she charged? Is she free on bail? This is just not petty minutiae. These are the types of loose ends that come back to bite Pip.

How is Cara coping with the truth about her father?

Of all the characters to be left in the wreckage at the end of Season 1, Cara Ward suffered the worst personal fallout. Her father, Elliot, the man who raised her, who sat at her kitchen table, who tried to get her through grief, was a murderer who shot Sal Singh. He imprisoned a vulnerable young woman in his own attic for years. He used Cara's birthday holiday to threaten Pip.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 2 has confirmed that Cara is back, which indicates the writers are not shying away from her storyline. However, Season 1 took very little account of a teenager dealing with that level of betrayal. How does she sleep at night? How does she talk to her sister Naomi, who was also sucked into Elliot's lies? What is her relationship with Pip, the person who led the investigation that broke up her family?

This is not a side story. Cara's feelings are one of the most humane storylines the show has. Season 2 needs to focus on it.

What is the status of Pip and Ravi?

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 1 finale culminated in a kiss. It has been coming for a long time. After 6 episodes of tension, teamwork, and terrifying near-death experiences, Pip and Ravi finally admitted what every single viewer watching already guessed.

But a first kiss is not a relationship. And Season 2 won't allow them to stay in their blissful bubble for long. Jamie Reynolds, the boy who disappears and launches the new mystery, is Ravi's close friend and Connor's brother. So the new case is a very close-to-home affair for all of the Singh-Reynolds group. Ravi is involved again.

How Pip and Ravi balance a real relationship and try to deal with the pressure that comes along with it will be interesting to see. This show has always been cautious about not letting romance get in the way of the story. But glossing over it is doing everyone a disservice. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 2 needs time to breathe.

What does Pip's future actually look like?

When A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 1 ended, Pip was a little unsure of her identity. She spent months on a murder investigation that nearly killed her. She had her dog taken away. She almost lost her life. And somewhere along the way, she had lost all conviction about who she wanted to be.

The question of Cambridge cast a huge shadow over the end. Pip had been preparing for that application. It was the finishing touch. But she began to wonder whether that was truly where she wanted to go or if the decision had already been dictated by the institutions and the people that surrounded her. The finale cut away before her interview, a deliberate choice that left the door open.

Season 2's official description continues to make clear that Pip is dealing with the consequences of the first season. She will try to find a way to put her life back together again. And she is not out of the woods yet. Every murder investigation takes her a step farther down the road.

In fact, that's what the show itself asks: How close can you be to being a good girl? A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 2 is when that question gets real.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 2 airs on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. All six episodes will be released simultaneously on Netflix worldwide.
