A short recap of Episode 6 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms titled “The Morrow”
Episode 6 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms starts out with Dunk taking a small rest after the Trial of Seven and there he thinks about how different things could have been, and because of all the pondering he does, the guilt of it all starts to eat at him.
Lord Lyonel Baratheon tries his best to uplift his mood and to cheer Dunk up. Baratheon says that Baelor’s death might not actually be the worst thing for the realm and he also reminds Dunk that there are so many others who have also risked their lives. Baratheon also suggests that they could go to Tarth, but Dunk? Dunk is way too troubled and decides to attend Baelor’s funeral.
At the funeral, Prince Valarr questions why the gods spared Dunk but not Baelor and Dunk has no answer to give. Maekar then offers Dunk a chance to swear his sword and take his youngest son, Aegon, as a squire. He believes Dunk can shape the boy into becoming a better man.
Dunk at first refuses because he does not want to stay tied to House Targaryen. Remembering lessons from Ser Arlan, he realizes he can train Egg better on the road and he agrees to shape Egg only if Egg is allowed to travel on the road with him. By morning, Egg joins Dunk in simple clothes, ready for their adventure, and together, they leave for a new journey across the realm.
