A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms aired its third episode this weekend, and with it, the HBO series has reached the halfway point. The latest episode begins like the previous two episodes, setting up why Dunk is the best and most noble hero of this franchise. The episode begins on a rather heartwarming note as Dunk and Egg are having breakfast, as the former learns that he has to wait for a while before participating in the tourney.

Titled "The Squire", not many actors have a speaking role in this episode. But this short half-hour episode marks a turning point in the series. The cast of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, like every other Game of Thrones actor, has gained a fan following. Here are the key cast members of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Episode 3:

  • Peter Claffey (Ser Duncan 'Dunk' the Tall)

Peter Claffey is one of the two main protagonists of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. A former Rugby player, Claffey made his television debut four years ago in 2022. In this HBO series, Claffey is playing the hedge knight, Dunk, or Ser Duncan the Tall, who would go on to become the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Importantly, he is the ancestor of Brienne of Tarth.

  • Dexter Sol Ansell (Egg/Aegon V Targaryen)

This HBO series might be 11-year-old Dexter Sol Ansell's first role as a protagonist. While Ansell has appeared in other shows and movies, he notably played the young Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. This year, the actor is going to star in 500 Miles, along with Bill Nighy and Roman Griffin Davis.

  • Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Plummer)

Tom Vaughan-Lawlor's Plummer has a small role in this episode. He meets Dunk in the first act of this episode, revealing to the hedge knight that his opponent intends to throw the jousting round, meaning Ser Duncan the Tall will win. But Dunk refuses this offer, saying that he wants to participate in the tourney by following the rules.

Tom Vaughan-Lawlor is an experienced Irish actor who most popularly played Ebony Maw in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Tanselle was introduced in the first episode as a puppeteer, but her character plays a pivotal role in this episode. She is attacked by the Targaryen Royal Prince, and Dunk comes to her defense, resulting in the former holding the latter for brutal punishment. But Egg steps and saves Dunk by revealing himself as Prince Aegon, before the punishment is enacted.

Fans saw Crawford as Raw Kincaid in Tiny Beautiful Things. The actress was also recently cast in Netflix's Assassin's Creed series.

  • Finn Bennett (Prince Aerion 'Brightflame' Targaryen)

Aerion Targaryen is the Joffrey Baratheon of this spin-off, i.e., the character everyone is supposed to hate. In this episode, he cheats to win the jousting round, causing public outrage. In the closing minutes, he is about to brutally punish Dunk when Egg comes to the rescue of the hedge knight and reveals himself as Aerion's brother, ending the episode.

Before appearing in this Game of Thrones spin-off, Finn Bennett played a main role in another HBO hit, True Detective: Night Country.

Binge the first three episodes of the series on HBO Max.
