A Shop for Killers Season 2, the popular South Korean action series, is just mere weeks away. The eight-episode first season, which was released in January 2024, was a surprising hit because of an engaging storyline and, more importantly, brutal and grounded fight scenes. Two years later, the story is continuing as old threats return, and new ones lie ahead for Jeong Ji-an.

For those who don't know, the first season followed orphaned college student Jeong Ji-an trying to solve the mystery of her uncle Jeong Jin-man's death. Over the course of eight episodes of the first season, Ji-an fights for survival as she is targeted by mysterious assassins while investigating her uncle's death.

What happened in A Shop for Killers Season 1?

Consisting of eight episodes, the first season was a murder mystery. It opens with Jung Ji-an learning about her uncle Jung Jin-man's mysterious death. We learn that Jin-man practically raised her after her parents' mysterious death. However, things take a dark turn as Ji-an herself is targeted by assassins. However, this is where the series shocks us with the revelation that Jin-man had his niece trained in combat.

Over the course of season 1, we learn that the private military company, Babylon, sent the assassins after her to settle scores with their former employee Jin-man. We also learn that it was Jin-man's feud with fellow Babylon mercenary Bale that resulted in Jin-man's family's death. This is why Jin-man ensured that Ji-an is trained in combat to protect herself from any danger.

But the biggest twist was in the season 1 finale, as Jin-man is still alive. We learn that the former mercenary faked his death to test his niece's combat skills and draw out his rivals in the open.

The A Shop for Killers Season 2 trailer confirms the return of Bale and Babylon:

Babylon faced a brutal defeat in the first season, and the private military company aims to pay back the uncle-niece duo. The trailer reveals that Jin-man and Ji-an are still in danger as Babylon hires not only Bale (who was mysteriously absent during the season 1 finale) but also international assassins like Q.

Rewatch the entire season 1 on Disney+ as we wait for A Shop for Killers Season 2.
