All Creatures Great and Small Season 6 Episode 7, titled 'Comfort and Joy', is available to watch on PBS Masterpiece this Sunday at 9 PM ET. Darrowby is set to celebrate its first Christmas after the war.
The episode begins with a chaotic morning at Skeldale House. Helen is back from London, but she is feeling unwell. James asks her to take some rest while he takes on her duties. James is struggling to sort out the Nativity play. Siegfried rushes to Mrs. Stokes' farm for Hilda. Hilda fell critically ill after eating a bag full of laurel leaves. Charlotte and Tristan go on a little adventure of their own. Tristan is still dealing with the post-war trauma, but Charlotte comes to the rescue. She comforts and cheers him up. She helps Tristan to find a Christmas tree meant for the Drovers. With a nationwide shortage of turkey, Mrs. Hall panics about whether they could even have it for their Christmas dinner. Maggie informs her about the dart-throwing competition at Drovers. Mrs. Hall wins the competition and takes home a turkey. Unfortunately, the turkey is alive, and they decide not to kill it. In fact, little Jimmy calls it Rudolph.
But what stands out in this episode is the return of Siegfried's old flame, Dorothy. Although Siegfried initially hesitates to reconnect, by the end of the episode, it seems like he's back with Dorothy. He realises that he can't lose her again.
